- Reviewed in the United States on February 1, 2015Excellent HDTV - Very elegant and simple look, but at the same time very sophisticated - sharp & clear picture, plus good quality sound'
I purchased this TV through Amazon; the service, handling & the delivery was in a superior manner.
I checked practically every TV which is in the market at this time & decided to choose this model of the Toshiba.
This TV even has some advanced features that I did not know existed.
I would recommend this TV to a friend.
- Reviewed in the United States on May 8, 2014This tv is horrible! The picture was extremely blurry and the remote worked when it wanted to. We tried to give it a chance. The DTV guy came and programmed the tv and the sports channel looked ok-a little less fuzzy. We put a movie in the xbox and there were double lines. Even HD channels were awful. Only good thing is Amazon's return policy. We had to pay to ship it back but well worth the money to ship back. We ended up going to Best Buy and bought a tv we could see first. A hot mess.
- Reviewed in the United States on February 23, 2015It's a great TV. Awesome size, clear picture and sound, very thin and lightweight. The stand was a bit of a pain to put together but it's very sturdy once it is. When I had purchased it, the software was out of date, so none of the smart apps worked.. I had to call Toshiba Customer Service and be stuck on the phone trouble shooting for about an hour to try and get the internet/software update working properly, but once that was over and done with, it runs great. If Netflix and YouTube won't load when you get the TV, go to the settings and make sure that your software is the most recent version (you can Google it).. that will fix the issue and save you an hour on the phone with tech support. The remote is kind of annoying and the buttons are hard to press, but it gets the job done. Great quality for the price.
- Reviewed in the United States on May 4, 2014I usually have stuck to the more popular TV brands in the past. When my main 40" TV started to die I decided to upgrade to a 50" which is the largest TV that will fit nicely on my TV stand. I also wanted to explore other brands, maybe save a little money. That was a mistake. I purchased it from a local big (blue) box store a week ago and I am returning it today.
I'm going to keep this short...
Pros:
-Good picture when you don't have any dark areas displayed.
-Has a pleasing look to it, and not difficult to assemble.
-Remote can control your other devices via HDMI (if they support it)
Cons:
-The back light is terrible. You can see blotchy bleed through anytime there are dark areas in the picture.
-The audio is some of the worst I've heard from a TV of this price range.
-Pressing mute on the remote first lowers the volume, then you must press again to actually mute it. Who thought this was good?
-The "Smart" features are useless unless you really like NetFlix.
Spend another $50-$100 and get a far better TV.
- Reviewed in the United States on May 28, 2014I've seen better images from more expensive HDTV's such as Sony's and Samsungs, but at this price, the features and form factor are hard to beat.
update: after a month, remote stopped working. The replacement remote I was sent doesn't have the netflix button.
- Reviewed in the United States on November 15, 2014Have had the TV for a few days now and is great with gaming. COD advanced warfare is great. Set has l lag rating of 28 or 29 depending on the site. Netflix is easy setup and picture is great. The sound is great though an audio output other than the digital would be nice. This is the 3rd Toshiba set I have owned and the old one is still going after 17 years!!!
- Reviewed in the United States on May 27, 2014If I could give it less than 1 star I would. Had less than 2 weeks and started having problems. Seller refused to take it back. Opened a case through Amazon, which did absolutely no good. Toshiba is a joke to try and work with. Have spoken to them 4, maybe 5 times and haven't resolved anything. Still waiting on a new remote that's supposed to be the fix. (Should have received it May 14th) There is absolutely no way the remote is the problem. It will not work with my Direct TV remote either. Both worked for the 1st 10-12 days.
Do not buy Toshiba if you have any other choices. Tech support is very bad and customer service is worse. Actually keep what you have if there are no other choices. I wish I was making all this up.
- Reviewed in the United States on August 30, 2014Beautiful picture, great sound. Requires use of Roku, but has lots of outputs and inputs, which are great for our surround system and retro consoles, like Nintendo. Youtube app makes it easy to casually stream music. Very thin and sleek looking.
May not be the smartest, but overall very nice.
