Seriously, Zomato? A 20 lakh "fee" to be Deepinder Goyal's assistant? No salary for a year? Is this a joke or a new level of exploitation? I mean, I get wanting to work with a high-profile CEO, but this is ridiculous. It's like they're saying, "Hey, you pay us to learn and grow!" What do you guys think? Is this the future of work, or a step too far? 🤔

More than 4 Lakh food orders get canceled on Zomato,' Deepinder Goyal Announces 'Food Rescue' to Grab Cancelled Orders at Unbeatable Price..

Zomato has launched 'Food Rescue,' a feature to reduce food wastage from canceled orders. When an order is canceled, it will appear on the app for nearby users within 3 km of the delivery partner for a limited time to ensure freshness. Co-founder Deepinder Goyal shared that over 400,000 orders are canceled monthly despite Zomato's no-refund policy, causing significant food waste. With Food Rescue, nearby users can purchase canceled orders in original packaging at a reduced price. Proceeds, minus taxes, will be split between the original customer (for online payments) and the restaurant partner. Delivery partners will receive full trip compensation, and restaurants can opt in or out easily. Perishable items, like ice creams, are excluded.ck for any newly available orders that need to be rescued.

Ultimate Zomato Hack!

You might have seen many a times that Swiggy and Zomato will never let you connect with a customer support agent or simply deny you a refund if your order is spilled, incorrect, has missing items or stuck in a different space-time dimension where the driver has been reaching you in 20 mins for the last 1 hour. Simple hack: Always choose cash on delivery. It will prioritize your order above gold customers, if you tell their chatbot that you won’t pay if the order is delayed beyond a point they will immediately connect you to a human AND if your order has missing/wrong items - you can simply refuse to pay. The user experience remains exactly the same - once the order is delivered you can pay via any UPI app or wallet or saved card through the app but you never again have to worry about being Zomato’s starving hostage. Wait! To be clear - I’m not suggesting to using this to deny payment of legitimate delivery orders. This is just mean to get “premium experience” with no extra cost.

I'm starting to feel like Swiggy 's service in Mumbai is taking a nosedive. Is anyone else experiencing the same? Two of my orders were delayed by over three hours this week alone. It's frustrating! And don't even get me started on the outdated menus and missing items. It feels like restaurants aren't even bothering to update their status on the app. What's even more disappointing is the customer support. When I reached out, the only solution they offered was to cancel the order. Seriously? That's not a solution, it's just giving up. Meanwhile, I placed the same order on Zomato, which was delivered on time. It's a shame to see a once-reliable service slip like this. I wonder how this pre-IPO slump and negative customer sentiment will impact Swiggy's future. It's time for them to improve their game and provide better service. Is Zomato too overvalued to enter right now?

I bought Zomato when it was in 60s and it has reached 200+. Though I like the money I have made, but I don’t see a sustainable business model here: Food delivery commissions have made me switch to dining out. In the restraunts, I get a lower price as well as additional discounts on paying via Zomato Quick commerce will become overcrowded and the dream margins will evaporate as soon as Flipkart and Reliance Industries enter . These players have a much higher bargaining power over manufacturers and can cut prices deeply. Smart money is moving away with institutions selling Zomato and retail buying. So should I hold or sell?

Hi, I am working as a software engineer at Samsung I have got an offer from Zomato and they are giving me the backend engineer role which I wanted. In Samsung, as it is an MNC and I am fresher we are assigned very low-priority tasks and learning is not there at all. But in Zomato learning will be huge. But a lot of reviews say that work culture is extremely horrible at Zomato and they fire very quickly. So I am confused because in Samsung job security is high. Always keep a check on Company's ambition box ratings, salary ranges for profile youre joining, employee reviews, and profitability while joining a company. Why Profitability? You would not want to join a circus which is churning out VC money / retail investors money to just generate revenue and no profits till date, and has plans to lay you off too whenever they deem fit. Anyone's thinking of joining Zomato in any of their business verticals. READ THIS- Reasons to not join: 1. They are not profitable- with the increasing input food costs and lower margins left with restaurants, they hike food prices and people only order from them if they give good discounts, which LOWER downs AVG. ORDER VALUE per order. With lower ticket sales ZOMATO can never turn profitable and eventually if will, profits will be minimal to justify their stock price. So, they've started cutting jobs and started hiring lower CTC people instead.

Is this an effect of public listening...? This is based on an analysis of 24K reviews on iPhone and Android phones between Jan to November 2023 conducted by clootrack. The results though look a lot squid as Zomato to outperforms Swiggy by three to four times in every parameter. How do you look at these results? Do you agree with this analysis?
