Canterbury House care home brings festive magic to residents
Canterbury House care home in Kent is bringing a little extra magic to its residents’ festive preparation with a Just Giving Christmas tree.
Canterbury House in Faversham has decorated its tree with tags – each one featuring a resident’s number and a small, personalised gift that they have chosen.
Visitors to the home are being invited to pick a tag and return with a gift labelled with the room number in the interests of sharing a little festive cheer among residents of the home.
Home manager Rachel Dadwa-As said:
For many of our cherished residents, Christmas can be a bittersweet time. Some have lost loved ones and may have only heavenly family to look to.
We would love visitors to our home to join us in this act of kindness and make our residents’ holiday season a little brighter, filling their hearts with joy and warmth.
The Just Giving Christmas Tree is part of Anchor’s nationwide Creative Christmas campaign, with care homes celebrating the festive season in the build- up to the big day itself, through lights switch on events and Christmas cake competitions.
