FATAL BUGGY ACCIDENT.
A SHIRE COUNCILLOR KILLED.
MANSFIELD, Wednesday.
John Lawther, the proprietor of the Glen Creek Brewery,
a member of the Mansfield Shire Council, and a very old
resident, was last night thrown from his conveyance and
killed, while driving from Doon to his residence. His body
was found on the roadside by a contractor early this morning.

OBITUARY.
MR. W. A. LAWTHER.
The death occurred on Saturday morning at his late
residence, Sydney Road, of Mr. William Alexander
Lawther, at the age of 78 years. He was born at
Bonnie Doon, and was a son of the late John and
Sarah Ann Lawther. He was married at Benalla 33
years ago to Miss Agnes Goodman, who survives
him. For many years he carried on farming pursuits
at Lima South, and came to reside in Benalla in 1935.
He was a keen follower of sport, especially football
and cricket.
John Lawther of Boswell, Somerset County, PA was born on October 23, 1879, and died at age 86 years old in February 1966.
