Anime: Kyoufu no Bio Ningen Saishuu Kyoushi

It's cheesy. But I for one revel in cheesiness. The story is pretty subpar, but this was meant to be tongue in cheek and schlocky. It looks and feels like a gang of old animators got together and threw together something just for fun. The animation itself has the look of the old Ranma 1/2 age.

In the end this is a comedy, poking fun at all the genetic experiment gone wrong anime that were so prevalent at the time, not to mention heroines of the era... Lucky Kitty panties FTW. Enjoyable if you don't feel like thinking and just want to laugh at some old school japanese slapstick anime. Don't expect a gem.

for some obscure reason, this turned out to be amongst the first items I dl-ed after a 3 month torrentry hiatus,
and, naturally, I wouldnt be mentioning this fact if it wasnt a complete and utter waste of time.

I say that because it is my firm ascertation that it has no redeeming features whatsoever.

Yes, I know, heed whats gone before and give it the respect it deserves, but animation wise this offering has near zero consistency, less style and few eye catchers (fnar fnar aside ). The character faces are often in the horse-like style that was apparently normal until someone decided SD didnt have to mean mutated as well as deformed. backgrounds have a tiny bit going for them, and the amount of detail that didnt go into the characters went into them, which is nothing special as they are fairly plain to look at, and thats not where the "story" is.

Sound is same again, generic voice actors, generic sound effects generic (low grade) background music ... covers it wholey. The music is forgettably dull, and the only saving grace is that screaming was limited and low pitched.

Now, there is a story. that is the most remarkable thing about this concoction, it actually makes some twisted sense, even if it really would be better if it didnt. There may be a couple of chuckles to be had at the exploitation of the rather tedious premise, but thats it really.

The grand total of three real characters get some spotlight, sure, and to this thing's credit, there are some ova(etc) that have done worse before and since. Getting by on this alone might have made it revolutionary when there was little else, but when creative stupidity has been brought to the refined levels of today, its entirely insufficient.

Believe me, I like the odd bit of well performed slapstick as much as the next cretin, but this relic is better buried in an age where it would have been appreciated, or an ordeal to prove you're a hard core animu nut and nothing else.

so obviously I greatly disliked this show, and would encourage anyone to skip it in a heart beat.

Probably the funniest anime I ever saw. That is all I can say really. It's just one of those shows you have to watch and judge for yourself. The plot is plain weird. The characters are hair brained. The situations are...err....hard to describe. I wish someone had a DVD rip of this.

One of the first animes to break my virginity on. It made me fall off my seat and go googly eyed.

Not a proper review I know. It's not the type of anime you can really pin down. Rather like Guu etc I guess. Too many WTF moments to try and explain it. The synopsis may help but it doesn't really tell you what it's like. You have to see it to believe it :)
