Being just a little late to the party 😅
I binged S1 and S2 of this show and I think it's amazing: the animation was great (for 2015 and even good for 2024), the story was very compelling and had lots of twists and was deep, every time a story "layer" was peeled off, you'd find more and more interesting stuff inside, I absolutely loved this.
Characters - esp. the MC and his harem - were extremely likable IMO, and the music - esp. the OP and ED of both seasons, were top notch.
Seriously, a show that has an awesome OP and ED is NEVER a bad show, and this one is not an exception.
The only downside to this is that after 8 years (I'm writing this as 2024 is about to end) there has not been any plans to produce S3, which is a big big shame as from the looks of it, the source material has so much more to offer.
This show was a 9/10 for me. Still crossing fingers for a miracle to happen and somehow S3 being announced 🤞

I have seen people calling this season both better and worse than Season 1. In my opinion, it was pretty much the same. The plotlines from Season 1 are continued in this season, and some important things are explained and expanded upon. There's a lot of action, and some character development. Production values remained the same. It's an overall well-made continuation of Season 1. However, what triggered me from this season was that, by the ending, there's no real sense of closure anywhere. The plot is not explicitly left in a cliffhanger, but it feels like one in every sense. Like many recommenders mentioned back in the day, it seemed as if a third season was on the way, however, four years later, it never materialized, as this subgenre pretty much died after 2016, which clearly sucks.
Overall, if you watched Season 1, Season 2 is the natural way to go, however, don't expect a proper, satisfying ending. Recommended for fans of the genre.

Most of the season covers the rest of the tournament, which is very by the numbers, but nicely animated at least.
Aside from that, a lot of groundwork is laid for things to come and the worldbuilding is expanded greatly in the process.
I am particularly interested in the politically powerful megacorporations in this world, which require their executives to neuter their emotions if they want to climb the ranks, which should become more relevant as the coming arc is apparently going to focus on Claudia.
Overall, not as good as the first season, but puts in the work to set up future plotlines, which we'll hopefully get to see in a third season.

Good sequel picking up exactly where the previous season left off. Basically don't treat this as a sequel at all but rather than still season 1. For obvious reasons you should watch this from the very beginning or it is like you are starting a season of game of thrones from episode 5!

Picks up where the 1st season left off, finishing off the tournament. Not much wasteful content, a lot of action. Looking forward to a 3rd season. Definitely recommended :D

The 2nd season picks up where the previous season ended and it was cool to see the latter matches until the resolution of the tournament. Action, characters, drama and enjoyment was all very good. After watching this season, it covers a lot of material that definitely needs another season to expand on the new revelations and issues. All in all, both seasons are very good and a bit more intense in this season.

It's a rare occurrence that the second season of a series is better than the first.
This one lives up to that I would say though. The main reason? Because there's so little wasted time in the series.
Every episode has character development, action, and a good dose of comedy.
Not only that, it left off at a very nice place for season 3.
Definitely worth watching.

Just as good as the first season. If you liked it then you will definitely like this one. It has a little more back story with the characters and their development comes along nicely.

Somehow not quite as enjoyable as the first season but still pretty good overall. Kinda leaves you hanging at the end so hoping a new season will be anounced soon.

a little action, more about the story line and background stories of the character, new characters (flora) which is pretty annoying in my opinion.

This second season of "Gakusen Toshi Asterisk" is a really nice sequel, with more intrigues and a deeper understanding of the characters' nature! If you liked the first season you'll like this too! Recommended.
