A curious adaption. In many ways, it's the complete opposite of the 2001 series.
It's finally a well-animated Baki, after the previous two seasons, which looked cheap even at the time. On the other hand, it's terribly paced and almost devoid of story progression.
The fights themselves are very fun to watch though and the only reason I finished it, and even those are often too drawn out and interrupted by 5-10 minute flashbacks.
If you're in for some over-the-top, mindless violence, this is your show, just don't expect anything of substance.

Definitely only for fans.
The serie started interesting and loosely uses different fighting styles to explain the immensely strong and weird moves the characters use. but half way through it is taken to far, until the end they keep introducing new characters with new fighting techniques while also going for weird back stories to all of a sudden explain the use of a certain weapon or move. Personally I liked the animation and sequences but the continuation of the story just poofs away into nothingness all of a sudden.

This series does only one thing but it does this extremely well. Uber-manly gore-filled fights, bordering on murderporn. It's completely ridiculous and insane but it's amazing. I love this show!

The series started off very interesting, a few monster fighters all went to Japan to fight Baki, but soon it kept on adding new characters, which they were even bigger and crazier than those first batch of fighters, later on, new fighters were added, and repeat.
Very disappointed, thought there would be some cool fighting sense like Air Master, but no, there are only a few good one, and the rest are just stupid fight. I pretty much faster forward from episode 8 till the end just to see if it gets better, but it didn't.
