Segawa Tetsuo is a recording engineer and a visiting professor at Josai University. He was born in Morioka, the capital of Iwate Prefecture in northern Honshu. In 1964, he joined Aoi Studio and worked there until going freelance in 1979. Later, he worked for recording/post-production studio D.S.D. Eureka. In 1992, he left the studio and became a freelancer again.
His main specialization is sound recording for films. He has taken part in creation of more than hundred motion pictures and received several prestigious awards.
