Thanks!! I think soBeautiful chickens and eggs!!
How odd to have the sex incorrect, as the hatchery prides this breed on easy sexing at hatch. Oops!Well my pearl star ”pullet” is a cockerel, I wasn’t too excited about them though, they look very similar to brown leghorn.
LOL! Well, they're two for two for being wrong, then. My pullet became 'Squeaky' because of his high-pitched squeaky crow. How odd to have the sex incorrect, as the hatchery prides this breed on easy sexing at hatch. Oops!
Awesome info thank you. I just picked up six of these today and was so confused on the breed.Hey all! Thanks for all the info! Appreciate it. I actually called the hatchery (Townline Hatchery here in MI) - this is what they said. The breeding information that is posted is correct. The actual breeders are from the Czech Republic and when Townline gets them (eggs for incubation), the breeders assign them a number (instead of name). So, Townline came up with this name. When I asked why Leghorn, they said due to it NOT laying brown eggs they wanted to put Leghorn in there to let people know - no brown eggs - eggs to be cream off white. Hope this helps! Thanks again for all the info! I did get 3 of these chicks and will post back late this summer/fall how well they are doing at the time.
Do you have images of your chicks when you got them and now? I just got what is supposedly a pearl star leghorn from TSC. Its maybe 3 days old is all. Cant seem to find baby pics of tvem anywhere though.Hey all! Thanks for all the info! Appreciate it. I actually called the hatchery (Townline Hatchery here in MI) - this is what they said. This is my supposed Pearl Star, Amber. My sister got her for me today, and she knows less than the people at TSC who said this one was a Pearl StarOne of my pearl stars as a chick and grown up. Yes, she has pinless peepers on. She pecks other chickens and herself. I'm still very happy with them(I have 2) but this one is a little on the crazy side. But they both lay large, very light brown eggs almost every day
