Gazebos and Shade
Whether we're wetting a line, taking a dip at the beach or kicking back to watch our littlies compete in sport, Aussies love the outdoors – there's no two ways about it – but the glaring summer sun can often leave us sweltering. Gazebos are one way to stay comfortable while outdoors, and they've become super popular as additions in the backyard or as camping gear. Today's camping gazebos, like the ones offered here at BCF, are durable and rugged yet feature simple locking mechanisms for easy setup. Explore our range of camping gazebos for sale online or head in-store to talk to one of our BCFing experts.
What is a gazebo?
While a permanent gazebo adds an aesthetic value to the backyard, it is not always practical. A portable camping gazebo eliminates all these drawbacks while still offering their own unique experience and structure. A camping gazebo is super versatile: you can bring it out when having mates over for a BBQ, use it as a sun shade while on a fishing trip, or whip it out for some shelter during a sporting event. You can also position it in different places during the day to offer the best protection from the sun, or add some side walls to help reduce the harsh effects of the sun's rays.
What are the different types of gazebos?
For a gazebo, one of the biggest considerations is whether you can set it up on your own, or whether you'll need a couple of extra hands to pop it up, as this will help determine what size you should choose. However, you may also want to think about the different functionalities of a gazebo.
Size- 3m x 3m gazebos (standard) – The Wanderer Classic Gazebo 3x3m is the most popular and versatile These standard size gazebos can be used as camping gazebos, market stalls, sports team spots, shade for the backyard BBQ, and so on.
- 4.2-4.5m x 3m (medium) – For when you need a little more space than your standard gazebo. Great for larger groups and for use with camping chairs, camping tables and camping fridges.
- 6m x 3m gazebos (large) – Designed for larger gatherings. For use in wedding parties, sporting events and more.
- Anti-pooling Pro – Equipped with a unique frame design that helps encourage water to roll off the sides. Wanderer sells anti-pooling pro gazebos in 3x3m and 6x3m.
- Heavy duty – such as the Wanderer Ultimate Jumbo Heavy Duty Gazebo 4.5x3m comes with a durable, seam-sealed 420D polyester canopy with UPF50+ sun protection.
- Central locking – Our Wanderer Central Locking Gazebo 3x3m offers a finger friendly one-push lock and release mechanism making it easier and quicker to set up.
- Scissor-frame – Most of our gazebos at BCF are designed with a scissor-frame for simple set up.
- Standard – Nothing fancy, just your simple, easy to pop up gazebo that's portable and sturdy.
How much does a camping gazebo cost?

Gazebo accessories and parts
Depending on your selection, the parts of your gazebo may include the following (or be available as an additional accessory):
- Polyester canopy with silver-coated back for awesome sun protection
- Heavy duty steel frame construction for durability
- Wheeled carry bag for easy storage and transport
- Simple locking mechanism making it easy to set up
- Side walls (both mesh and solid) for air flow, sun protection and privacy
- Sandbags and gazebo weights for added stability and to help anchor down your frame
- Light and lantern attachments for night time illumination
Accessories such as these add value to a gazebo e.g. adding sides to offer extra additional shade or privacy, or mosquito nets to keep away the mozzies. Sandbags are good weights because you can fill them and empty them at the campsite or beach, which makes packing and carrying them easier than solid weights. While we don't recommend erecting your gazebo during high winds, any minimal damage inflicted throughout the life of your gazebo may be fixed with a trusty repair kit.
