Mawimbi

Launched in 2013, Mawimbi is a Paris-based collective of DJs and musicians dedicated to building bridges between afrocentric musical traditions and contemporary electronic music. For the past seven years, Mawimbi DJs and producers have made a name for themselves by breathing new life into Europe’s music scene with their infectious grooves. The collective's music navigates between genres and eras in an unconventional way, seamlessly blending afro-house, electronic highlife and shamanic techno into their own dance strain. They have delved deeper into this rather unexplored fusion of electronic and traditional sounds by putting together events showcasing the likes of Africaine 808, José Marquez, The Busy Twist, Batida, DJ Khalab, Spoek Mathambo, Clap!
