Mikie Smithers

It was as the embers of disco began to smolder and flicker out, as the '80s pop revolution was ignited, that Mikie Smithers grew up outside of Bakersfield, California. He grew up as somewhat of a self-proclaimed musical geek, classically trained in Piano and Saxophone. Raised by his grandparents in a small town surrounded by oil derricks and farmland, there weren't many distractions other than strip malls and flea markets. Music became his escape. It was in high school that he began to DJ his own parties. It was at the age of 21 when he first discovered new programs with digital effects that his musical outlook and aspirations quickly shifted.
