Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)
This album is rated in the top 1% of all albums on BestEverAlbums.com. This album has a Bayesian average rating of 91.3/100, a mean average of 89.8/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 91.3/100. The standard deviation for this album is 14.2.

It is a no wonder that so many people consider this the best Beatle album. This album takes off where Rubber Soul ended and even somewhat further. The increased level of writing continues and will carry forward into future songs and albums.
With the exception of Yellow Submarine, I believe every track is excellent.
This album was shortlisted for the Album of the year at the Grammys in 1967. The eventual winner was A Man And His Music by Frank Sinatra
One of the handful I’d consider to be a 10/10 album, and easily a contender for the greatest album ever made. This album is a masterpiece from start to finish, and while it has its weak points, those weak points are still peak Beatles and peak music in general.

“If you do what you’ve always done, you’ll get what you’ve always had” - so goes the old adage. The Beatles certainly weren’t prepared to get what they’d always had with this release - straightforward rock, psychedelia, orchestral pop, Eastern rhythms, and a track so far ahead of its time The Chemical Brothers would build a career out of its sound 30 years later.
This was the Beatles album that Ray Davis of the Kinks slated, somewhat arrogantly, in a written musical review. It is definitely not their very finest release of all but I'm Only Sleeping and Eleanor Rigby, to name but two tracks, can stand in the same light as Waterloo Sunset or Sunny Afternoon and not be overshadowed. Unlike certain other great 1960s releases, it has improved with age.

One of the best albums I’ve ever had the pleasure of listening to. For No One is an excellent song, Yellow Submarine just makes me happy because Ringo. Even the worse song, I’m only sleeping, is still good. Again, definitely worth a listen!
One of the greatest and most important albums of all time (if not the most) and of course one of my favorites in terms of psychedelia, pop/rock songs and experimental music, In short, one of my favorites in every way, here are my ratings:
1. Tomorrow Never Knows 100/100
2. I'm Only Sleeping 99/100
3. For No One 98/100 -> 100/100
4. She Said, She Said 98/100 ->100/100
5. Eleanor Rigby 97/100 -> 100/100
6. And Your Bird Can Sing 97/100 -> 100/100
7. Taxman 95/100
8. Got To Get You Into My Life 94/100 -> 95/100
9. Here, There And Everywhere 93/100 -> 95/100
10. I Want To Tell You 91/100 -> 95/100
11. Love You To 91/100 -> 95/100
12. Doctor Robert 88/100 -> 90/100
13. Good Day Sunshine 85/100
14. Yellow Submarine 77/100 -> 80/100
I love especially the psychedelic/a little darker stuff and i'm not the biggest Yellow Submarine enjoyer at all, and my favorite track occasionally swaps between Tomorrow Never Knows and I'm Only Sleeping. But in a last resort actually i like them all.

Although I really like this album, I find many of the songs to be average, and melodically bland. Even though this was a cosmic shift for the band musically, I think the songwriting was significantly better on later albums. This album is a blend of their old sound and what would become their new sound, and it was groundbreaking at the time, but it’s brilliance at the time I think has been dropped down a peg by what would follow this album. It’s still a historical album nonetheless.
Brilliant album. Only weak spot for me is Yellow Submarine. However, for me that’s nostalgic as my son loved the soundtrack album when he was a child. I have been fond of this album for years.but not for the hits but for the rest of the lesser known tracks such as Tomorrow Never Knows, I’m only Sleeping, And Your Bird Can Sing, etc. I can’t imagine an artist today being asked to put out 12 albums in a period from 1963 to 1969 while touring with the level of quality that they achieved, it’s astounding. Anyone who hasn’t heard this album needs to do so immediately. And for the Beatles naysayers, if you want to dump on their material then let’s hear what you think is better, as I can’t imagine anything that’s been done with any quality and skill prior to 2000.
