This garlicky, buttery Kahuku-style shrimp dish is similar to the sautéed garlic shrimp that are sold by the famed shrimp trucks on the North Shore of O‘ahu, but to me it is even more delicious because of our spices and easier because it’s baked.
Shake bottle. Mix all ingredients except chives or green onions in a baking pan or dish. Bake in a 350° oven until shrimp turns pink (about 5-10 minutes). Before serving, garnish with chives or green onions.
Variations: If you want it spicy, use Ka‘iulani Spices Pele’s Fire instead of or in addition to the Ka‘iulani Spices Hawaiian Spice. If you want lots of sauce use a stick of unsalted butter. When I tested this, I wanted to infuse the butter with garlic flavor, so I melted the butter with the sliced garlic (do not brown; cool it 5 minutes, then mix it with shrimp).
