Great casserole style dinner
Melt 1 tablespoon butter in large saute' pan, add mushrooms, onion and garlic. Cook 5 min. Set aside.
Rinse seafood (except crab), pat dry and season with pepper. Add 1 tablespoon butter and saute' a couple of minutes. Season with salt. Put in a strainer set over a bowl. Save liquid.
Sauce: Melt rest of butter in medium pan over low heat. Add flour and cook without browning for 2 min. Stir. Add chicken broth, cream & wine. Cook until smooth and thickened. Remove from heat. Season with thyme and stir in 1/4 cup reserved liquid, drained from seafood.
Pour half & half in bottom of a 9" x 13" baking dish. Lay four noodles in single layer. Layer with 1/3 each of mushroom mixture, seafood and cheese. Repeat twice, ending with sauce. Cover with foil. Bake 20 min. at 3500. Remove foil and bake another 20 min. Remove from oven and let stand 15 min. before serving.
It is not necessary to pre-cook the noodles. You can experiment with different herbs - Italian seasoning is great. Any good cheese can also be used. Suggested combination of seafood: Scallops, shrimp, crab, white fish.
