Scream Factory, the horror-thriller offshoot of independent film distributor Shout Factory, has detailed its upcoming Blu-ray release of Stan Winston's cult horror film Pumpkinhead (1988), starring Lance Henriksen, Jeff East, John D'Aquino, Kimberly Ross, and Joel Hoffman. The release will be available for purchase on September 9th.
Synopsis: When a group of rambunctious teenagers inadvertently kill his only son, Ed Harley (Henriksen) seeks the magic of a backwoods witch to bring the child back. But when she tells him the child's death is irrevocable, his grief develops into an all-consuming desire...for revenge! Defying superstition, he and the witch invoke "the pumpkinhead" - a monstrously clawed and fanged demon which, once reborn, answers only to Ed's bloodlust. But as the invincible creature wreaks its slow, unspeakable tortures on the teens, Ed confronts a horrifying secret about his connection the beast - and realizes that he must find a way to stop its deadly mission before he becomes one with it forever!

With Shout Factory's track record, this will probably be from a dated print (it was filmed in '88) and this will be a wait and see for me. Loved the Laserdisc I had but technology has come a long way since those days.
Honestly, Shout Factory keep surprising me again and again... I'll be sure to buy this one pronto once it comes out The list of features appears to be extensive and satisfying, etc... Can't wait
+Looks horrible.
Keeping my Collectors Edition DVD.
Not buying this or any future SHoult/Scream releases due to NightBreed fans like myself getting screwed and not getting the full package.
Wish I could afford that obscene price
I already have this pre ordered. Its nice to see the special feature tribute to Stan Winston that guy had awesome creature effects in a lot of good horror films...
