Room 1228 Mobility accessible - Location is handy to Southern Cross Station, accessed by walking the fly over and then stairs or lift, or walking Collins street and then stairs or lift to Aurora Lane. Bathroom was a decent size for a mobility access room. Breakfast which was included in our rate had plenty of choices.

The location is very strategic and easy to find, near tram and train station. The hotel didn’t serve breakfast but there are many place to dine around hotel from breakfast until dinner time. The staff very friendly and helpful. I requested for early check in cause i arrived around 5 am, and when i arrived at the hotel fortunately there’s room that still vacant so we could take a rest after an early morning flight. At the basement of the hotel there’s one of famous thai restaurant doo dee paidang. Overall, the room is clean and tidy. I really recommend this hotel if you wanna travel just around CBD area.

Fantastic location. Shops and restaurants only a minute away and only a few minutes from Chinatown the theatre district. Had everything we needed for our short stay. We didn't eat at the hotel so can't comment on the breakfast option. The rooms are serviced only every few days and this was fine as it was easy to get extra supplies/towels etc as needed. The room was very clean. Excellent communication from the hotel prior to arrival.

A thoroughly liveable city, Melbourne has a buzzy vibe and an Aussie sense of fun. There’s always something going on, and one of its many festivals is Moomba – Australia’s largest free arts festival. Well worth a visit are the National Gallery of Victoria and the Melbourne Aquarium, where you can walk through a clear tunnel as sharks swim over your head.
The city’s most recognizable landmark is Flinders Street Station, whose yellow and green façade matches the color of the historic Melbourne trams that still run around the world’s longest tram network. Keep an eye out for the street art as you travel.
Shopping in Melbourne is fantastic. Queen Victoria Market is the largest open-air market south of the Equator, while the La Trobe Street shopping center has over 300 stores. For food, don’t miss Little Italy - the Carlton area.
South of the Yarra River is St Kilda, home to the best beach and Albert Park, where the F1 Australian Grand Prix is held. However, this isn't the city’s only sports heritage. It’s also the home of Aussie Rules soccer and the MCG, a must-see for cricket fans.
Booking.com has a range of Melbourne accommodations from hotels to hostels and motels, some near Melbourne Airport.

I don't like Melbourne at all at the best of times, it is sometimes a necessary evil. Should our train system have been running better than it has for the last 3 years and we had access to a train instead of replacing them with buses, it would have been easier for us.
The hotel was nice and close to a train station, AAMI Park and John Cain Arena, all within walking distance. Although a bit on the expensive side it was clean and quiet and offered secure parking. Great places for watching a show, the tennis, the footy or like I have had to use in the past, the medical facilities at AAMI Park are exceptional.

Shopping is good. Plenty of choices to eat out.
Shopping is good. Plenty of choices to eat out. Great theatres. The negative was rude people. They pushed in front of us to get into trams and trains. The other negative was people of all ages crossing roads and on footpaths looking at their phones and NOT looking where they were going.

Melbourne a good city to visit for food and entertainment, sports.Sad to see so many homeless and beggars on the streets, a little off putting and frankly I didn't feel as safe there as we were say 10 years ago.Too many additional costs on food and beverage especially on weekends,so in all there are many cheaper cities to visit

The Veriu Collingwood is in a fantastic location to explore the urban chic of Fitzroy in Melbourne. It is near tram lines to access the CBD also. Despite being an a main road our room was quiet. I really liked the layout of 2 x mini apartments with a shared entry as I was travelling with my mother, so it provided personal space but also togetherness. I love having mini kitchen's when I travel as I am a healthy eater, however the apartments are super close to excellent eateries, bakeries and coffee galore!
A perfect location for either venturing into the city or exploring other local suburbs by tram less than 100 metres from the door. Room was clean, comfortable and very roomy. Whilst other hotels may have more modern bathrooms we found the standard very good and good value for money. We have stayed here several times and would make it our go to place if exploring other parts of Melbourne outside of the CBD.
We absolutely loved our stay at Caroline Apartments! We had a family/friends group of 6, and the rooms were so spacious for us to enjoy our stay comfortably! The location is perfect, walking distance to the Richmond restaurants & bars along Swan street. It was an easy tram into the CBD also. Thanks so much - We’ll definitely be staying again on our next trip to Melbourne!
My first time staying at the oakwood and it was a surreal experience. The staff are extremely polite and moved me to a room with better view of the city. It was close proximity to Melbourne CBD, close to public transport and only about 25 minutes to the airport. Room service was good & the rooftop restaurant was reasonably priced and the food was nice.
The beauty of the original fittings has been preserved. We were only in Melbourne overnight but the hotel's location near Southbank, the river gardens, free cbd tram and the central district allowed us to really enjoy the time.
