Renowned for its stunning architecture and the world’s largest fair, Oktoberfest, Munich needs little introduction. Its vibrant cultural scene, great shopping and fantastic museums speak for themselves.
Munich has something for everyone: from historic palaces and castles, to stunning royal avenues to world class galleries and museums. Don't miss the new city hall, or Glockenspiel, in the heart of Marienplatz or the former residence of the Bavarian kings, the Residenz. Munich is also home to the world’s most famous beer hall, the Hofbräuhaus.
For great shopping, Karlsplatz is a pedestrian zone which takes up much of the city centre and the upscale area around Maximilianstrasse is yet another commercial wonderland. Munich is famous for its food too, so make sure you try the local Weißwurst, Leberkässemmeln and other popular pork dishes.

It is a beautiful city.
It is a beautiful city. Near the former concentration camp Dachau, which can bring some interesting thing to your trip. The shops are closed on the sundays, hence it is Germany. Would recommend to see the wonderful ancient city to all people.

The people are so friendly.
The people are so friendly. There is so much beauty in the city and surrounding areas. Great for just loafing about on foot or buy a ticket for the grey line sightseers bus tour to see even more. Although if you are reliant on the bus, I would get the 48 hour ticket as only available 10am-5pm and 7 hours is not enough time to see everything.

We mainly walked, but also took the train to Salzburg while in Munich. Trains and buses are widely used and are easy to access. People are friendly and usually speak English. We enjoyed the Viktualienmarkt, Hofbrauhaus, Marienplatz and the Glockenspiel. The Viktualienmarkt was a great place to find many kinds of products to buy. Watching surfing at the Englisher Garten is a must! There were a minimal number of people in the park due to it being October/November, but the grounds were beautiful! The art gallery, Alte Pinakothek, kept our attention for about 3 hours; many famous artists were featured there. The food is amazing -- Apfelstrudel, Spatzle, Weissewurst, were some of our favorites.

Munich is an old city with some very beautiful old Churches and buildings. The big pubs are very crowded and noisy . It is not a cheap city to eat or drink in even for a takeaway . The local people all speak English and are very nice .

The hotel was in a good location, half way between the City centre and the Messe. A 10 minute taxi ride. Staff were friendly and helpful. Hotel room was decent size with modern facilities. Did not eat there but we used the bar which opens from 5pm. There was an area where you could purchase drinks and snacks out of hours. There was a small shopping area just around the corner from hotel where you could get food and coffee. If you visit Munich at the weekend please be aware that nothing opens on a Sunday...
Modern hotel close to the autobahn. On our way from the north of Germany to Italy, it was a great opportunity for us to stay overnight in Munich and travel onwards. We had no problem getting to the city centre using public transport. The bus stop is not far away. 2 bus lines run at 20 minute intervals. The room had everything we needed.
Breakfast was satisfactory, a good option for getting some energy before travelling further afield.
On the outskirts of Munich, but U-Bahn is 250m, and it's 10 minutes away from the city centre. Parking in the underground garage, it cost 12€ per night but well worth it. The room was spacious on two levels, and the breakfast was good. Next time we are in Munich, we will definitely stay here again. Thank you, Empress Boutique Hotel
Great hotel just a short walk into Munich city centre. Room was a good size with everything you need - kettle, coffee machine, fridge. Comfortable bed and modern bathroom. Nice and clean. Underground parking is expensive but worth the money - lots of spaces, well lit.
Very nice hotel near Munich train station, very nice breakfast (wish I had had more time to enjoy it), room was quiet and comfortable despite being in the city centre. I had a very good night's sleep in advance of my early train the next morning.
