The people are so friendly. There is so much beauty in the city and surrounding areas. Great for just loafing about on foot or buy a ticket for the grey line sightseers bus tour to see even more. We mainly walked, but also took the train to Salzburg while in Munich. Trains and buses are widely used and are easy to access. People are friendly and usually speak English. We enjoyed the Viktualienmarkt, Hofbrauhaus, Marienplatz and the Glockenspiel. The Viktualienmarkt was a great place to find many kinds of products to buy. Watching surfing at the Englisher Garten is a must! There were a minimal number of people in the park due to it being October/November, but the grounds were beautiful! The art gallery, Alte Pinakothek, kept our attention for about 3 hours; many famous artists were featured there. Munich is an old city with some very beautiful old Churches and buildings. The big pubs are very crowded and noisy . It is not a cheap city to eat or drink in even for a takeaway . The local people all speak English and are very nice .
