Great breakfast options and the room was set up very nicely for the toddler. The views were outstanding and even though we were above the bar, we couldn't hear any noise.

Friendly host, breakfast was lovely and good selection - full Scottish plus cereal, toast, yoghurt, fresh fruit, fruit juice, coffee and a big selection of teas and condiments.
Free parking, perfect location, so close to the ferry terminal. Room was a great size, clean, and beds comfortable. Toiletries included, and tea/coffee and biscuits. Hairdryer and TV to use. Drawers to unpack clothes which is rare these days, and plenty of hangers in wardrobe. Portable heater and big tartan blankets for when the nights get chilly. Plenty of hot water in shower and taps.
Guest fridge in hallway was available to use which was great for storing cheese and chocolate before heading home.
Cost wise, this was good value for what we paid (also considering it was a bank holiday weekend and the music festival was on, this was the only accommodation that didn't hike up their prices)
Can see some of the building and rooms are undergoing a refurbishment, so would be great to check these out if we ever come back to Arran.

The location is above/overlooking the pretty village of Whiting Bay. 5-7 mins walk down a lane to the village.
The hill is very steep so getting back up takes a bit longer with a bit more effort, but we are regular walkers so no problem for us.
7 mins drive/bus to Lamlash and 15 min drive/bus to Brodick. The bus stop is at the bottom of the lane and the service on the island is one of the best we have experienced in our travels around Scotland.
Owners communication was excellent. Including directions on how to get to the cottage by car which was a little tricky driving up a single track/pot holed lane and without the directions I would have never found it!
Really large cottage with front room and back room/dining room area. 3 bedrooms (although we only needed the one, it would be ideal for larger families), As well as a conservatory and a garden.
Kitchen had pretty much every thing we would need for our stay.
Private car parking.
Overall, a very decent cottage for a holiday.
