The hotel facilitlies, althought old, is quite good with a seaside environment, we enjoyed the outdoor massage. Room is spacious enough for staying a few days. A bath tub will be added value.

Beach and Fun in Penang
Batu Ferringhi is a combination of a beach resort packed with modern hotels and a tropical Asian paradise. Located in the Penang area of northern Malaysia, it is one of the biggest resorts of its kind in the country. Restaurants, shopping centres and numerous modern services and facilities are also available, along with its well-known ‘Pasar Malam’ or Night Market.
The strip along Jalan Batu Ferringhi Street is the main service area, and you’ll find a large variety of hotels on the beach, apartments and guest houses. The area can be divided in three different zones: Tanjung Bungah to the east, Batu Ferringhi itself, and the quieter Teluk Bahang to the west. Check the hotels map to see which area is the most convenient for you.
Things to do in the surroundings include the ‘Butterfly Farm’, home to a collection of thousands of beautiful specimens; and the ‘Spice Garden’, which features a lush landscape with a large variety of herbs and spices. The town is located only 16 km from the UNESCO World Heritage Site of George Town’s historic centre.
It can be reached by bus, or via a 45-minute flight from Kuala Lumpur to Penang Airport. Before enjoying the sun and fun of Batu Ferringhi, don’t miss the accommodation deals available on Booking.com!

I lived in Penang for a couple of years in the early 80s, as a kid, and visited again as an adult in 1994 - Batu Ferringhi seemed to be much nicer back then. On this visit, it seemed to be lacking atmosphere - although we did find some nice restaurants. If I went to Penang again, I would be more likely to stay in a hotel in Georgetown (preferably one with a pool).

The nature is generous here, the green trees, the wild plants, the beaches, they are all good if human beings do not destroy by throwing their garbage into those beautiful areas. The Spice Garden was really good, its a good botanic park which is very informative. The National Park is beatutiful with a thick forest, the trails are nice but it would be better if cement would not be used in the trails. It was difficult to go to the Fruit Farm because there were no buses, only taxi goes, quite expensive and not very interesting.
Transportation by city bus is really good. The main road, the buses are all clean and nice. Its easy to go to Geoge town and some other places connected to the main road.
The restaurants mostly are open in the evening, the food I tried was so so and also expensive.

The Golden Sands Hotel is fantastic.
The Golden Sands Hotel is fantastic. Some deterioration is expected on any property on a seafront location but the facilities are top of the list, buffet breakfast has many, many options for tourists from all around the world, and it's great being able to try different things from different cultures. All the staff were always friendly and smiling and the pools and activities are second to none. Along the road is the Long Beach Cafe, a group of food markets which are great value and again food from various cultures, also the Power Up Restaurant had great food. Within walking distance are grocery markets, Pharmacy and medical centre, along with lots of food stalls, day spas, money changer and night markets.

There is nothing to do there in the day as the majority of restaurants are closed and there are not shops. People tend to stay in their hotels and come out at night for the market and to eat, I think. The beach is OK but I wouldn't go into the sea as it is not clean.

The stretch of beach at Teluk Bahang is quiet and sand is less coarse though not very fine. Views are lovely from Angsana Hotel.
the more commercialised areas nearer to the city cause traffic jams along the way and prices of food at these stretches are above the norm.

Batu Ferringhi is a great beach front location, many restaurants with good choices of food. live entertainment on beach at night time.
very frequent bus service to Georgetown and only Rm2.40 per person each way. Take the bus to Teluk Bahang, terminus is at entrance to Penang National Park - some great hiking trails to Keracut Beach, (Turtle Beach), from there take the boat to Monkey beach and the hiking trail to the lighthouse - great day out, if you like jungle hiking

ParkRoyal Penang despite its age has held up very well, the renovated spaces look amazing. The resort has amazing parking, great swimming pools and the direct access to the beach is truly beautiful. The hotel has good staff and big rooms with ample light.
It is very close to the night market and the 24 hours open convenience shops which does help, the lobby is truly amazing. I have a whole video on the resort on my YouTube page :P
The host,Evelyne was very friendly and helpful. She let us check in early. The apartment is well equipped with stove, microwave, oven, washer, dryer etc. Wide swimming pool and the beach is just behind the apartment. Walking distance to Muslim restaurants & stalls. Also near to souvenir shops that offered very good prices. InsyaAllah my family & I will stay here again when come to Penang.
Rasa Wing upgrade well worth the extra. The staff throughout are really excellent, though Batu Ferringhi is badly needing upgrading - nothing really here and beach has virtually no facilities - the Rasa Sayang is worth going to and staying in resort, other than for eating out.
I really like everything about the hotel including the cleanliness, responsible, environment etc. Everything just perfect and i think this is the best hotel locates is Penang
