The modern-day bachelorette party exists in many forms. From lavish, big-city getaways to quaint, cozy trips, the possibilities are endless when it comes to gathering your bridesmaids and best friends for an epic pre-wedding bash. No matter the destination, bachelorette groups almost always want to maximize fun and maintain a lively dynamic with events like boozy brunches, brewery or winery tours, and Insta-worthy photoshoots.
There may come a time during the bachelorette party, though, when you want to take a pause from the high-energy happenings and enjoy a laid-back movie night. You can ease into the partying with Netflix and wine as everyone arrives, take an evening to slow down during the busy weekend, or round out the revelry in matching PJs on the couch. Or, if you've already got a packed schedule, you can host a pre-bachelorette movie night with your nearest and dearest to get hyped up (and inspired) with some classic friendship films.
We've rounded up eight films to watch with your best friends. And all are available on popular streaming services with a subscription or for purchase.
Bachelorette (2012)
Rebel Wilson stars as a bride who wants to keep her New York City bachelorette party relatively tame, but when her jealous bridesmaids (Kirsten Dunst and Isla Fisher) ruin her wedding dress by drunkenly both trying to fit into it at once, the party’s mission becomes saving the gown, which also acquires some R-rated stains. Along the way, the ladies’ evening includes plenty of booze, strippers, and ex-boyfriends, plus a plethora of cursing.

Best Night Ever (2013)
Four women rally to make the best of a Las Vegas bachelorette party when everything seems to go wrong. The bride-to-be (Desiree Hall) and her three bridesmaids (Samantha Colburn, Crista Flanagan, and Eddie Ritchard) get mugged, kicked out of a strip club, and beat up by a female gelatin wrestling champ—and the whole night gets caught on tape. Use this flick as a warning to keep the phones away during certain parts of your bachelorette weekend.
Available on: Tubi, PLEX, Amazon Prime Video, Google Play
Bridesmaids (2011)
A frazzled maid of honor (Kristen Wiig) takes charge when her best friend (Maya Rudolph) gets engaged and finds herself leading a quirky group of bridesmaids (Rose Byrne, Ellie Kemper, Melissa McCarthy, and Wendi McLendon-Covey). The mayhem spans from a dress fitting tainted by food poisoning to an epic bridal shower meltdown. This classic comedy will have you and your own bridesmaids cracking up between quoting your favorite lines.
Available on: Peacock, Google Play, Redbox, Amazon Prime
Girls Trip (2017)
Though they’re not celebrating any upcoming nuptials, Regina Hall, Tiffany Haddish, Queen Latifah, and Jada Pinkett Smith play a group of college besties reuniting at Essence Fest in New Orleans after their lives diverged on different paths. The vacation—which is actually a work engagement for Hall’s character—includes party nights in the Big Easy, an unexpectedly wet zipline ride over Bourbon Street, an accidental drug trip, and that infamous grapefruit scene.
Available on: Hulu, YouTube, Apple TV, Vudu, FXNOW
Rough Night (2017)
Four girlfriends (Jillian Bell, Ilana Glazer, Scarlett Johansson, and Zoë Kravitz) attempt to relive their college glory days when they get together for a rowdy bachelorette weekend in Miami. After they pick up the future bride’s Australian best friend (Kate McKinnon) at a nightclub, the whole group goes back to their beach house to await the arrival of a male stripper. The festivities take a turn, though, when the stripper winds up accidentally dead due to some overzealous partygoers, and the ladies attempt to cover their tracks while still making the most of their pal’s last fling before the ring.
Available on: Pluto TV, Amazon Prime, Google Play, Redbox
Sex and the City: The Movie (2008)
Grab a cosmo and watch Carrie (Sarah Jessica Parker) continue to navigate her love life with her three best friends (Kim Cattrall, Kristin Davis, and Cynthia Nixon) in the city that never sleeps. Though hopefully your big day goes off more successfully than her and Mr. Big’s (Chris Noth) planned nuptials at the New York Public Library, the movie still provides bachelorette party-worthy levels of glitz and glam. Carrie has a casual sleepover bachelorette with none other than Charlotte, Samantha, and Miranda, a chic rehearsal dinner, and a relaxing honeymoon in Mexico—although she spends most of it in bed after (spoiler alert!) getting left at the altar.
Available on: Netflix, Amazon Prime, Google Play, Redbox
Magic Mike (2012)
If you’re not in Las Vegas for the real deal, bring Magic Mike into your living room for a fraction of the cost. The male stripper dramedy is inspired by star Channing Tatum’s real-life start as a male dancer and offers Tatum, Joe Manganiello, Matthew McConaughey, and Alex Pettyfer giving lap dances, rocking banana hammocks, and thrusting their hips in front of screaming female clubgoers. You can even make it a double feature with the movie’s sequel, Magic Mike XXL.
Available on: HBO Max, Vudu, Google Play, Amazon Prime, Apple iTunes
The Hangover (2009)
This one may be male-focused, but no list of bachelorette party movies would be complete without the comedy that gave birth to the modern-day, pre-wedding party film—especially if you’re throwing a co-ed bash. Before Doug (Justin Bartha) gets married, he brings along his two best friends (Bradley Cooper and Ed Helms) and his peculiar future brother-in-law (Zach Galifianakis) for a night of debauchery in Sin City. His soon-to-be brother ups the ante when he drugs the group, sending the Wolfpack on a night they can’t remember. They lose Doug, repay their debt to a hyper gang leader (Ken Jeong), and make it back to California for the wedding, all while trying to retrace their steps from the prior night.
