Selena Gomez has given new meaning to the old cliché, "Stars — they're just like us!"
The "Single Soon" singer recently told fans that she underwent surgery for a broken hand.
During a Wednesday interview with iHeart Radio's "Ellen K Morning Show," Gomez revealed that she suffered the injury after tripping over her own outfit.
"So I wish I had like a really cool story that I saved someone's life or something," Gomez said. "But I was in a long dress — it was a summer dress — and I was walking from my car to my house and I tripped."
The host told Gomez, "Thank God you didn't break your teeth."
"Yes, that's what the doctor said," Gomez agreed, raising her cast in the air. "I guess there is a silver lining, but this is not fun."
Gomez has had her fair share of health scares. In 2015, she publicly shared her lupus diagnosis. Complications from the autoimmune disease caused Gomez to require a life-saving kidney transplant in 2017.
The 31-year-old star has also been open about her battles with depression, anxiety, and bipolar disorder.
