Whether you’re a fashion enthusiast or prefer minimal effort, building a wardrobe you love (and actually wear) is a time-consuming undertaking not all men have the patience for. That’s where clothing subscription boxes for men come in handy. A clothing subscription—whether delivered monthly, seasonally, or on-demand—that delivers outfits and accessories straight to your doorstep solves all kinds of shopping woes. Want to refresh your lackluster wardrobe? Check. Too short on time to shop? Also, check. Need a professional’s help to refine your style? Check for that, too.

Part algorithm, part personal stylist, a men’s clothing subscription tailors a variety of wardrobe must-haves to your styling needs. You’ll find subscriptions specializing in accessories and others that can deck you out from head to toe. The trickiest part is narrowing down the many options to the one that works best for you. We did a lot of research to find the key players in the subscription boxes for men universe and learned what separates the truly worthwhile subscriptions from the just okay ones. We also spoke with celebrity stylist and fashion expert Cindy Conroy for tips on how to get the most out of a clothing subscription. Ahead, we’re sharing the clothing subscriptions that will make your fashion journey much easier.

Best for Everyday Wear: Stitch Fix

Stitch Fix

Stitch Fix

What We Like & What to Consider

  • Offers designs from over 1,000 brands
  • No commitment to keeping pieces
  • Flexible delivery schedule
  • Must purchase all items in a box to receive a discount

Base Price: $20 styling fee (credited toward items kept) | Free Shipping? Yes | No. of Plans: 1

There’s a reason Stitch Fix has been dropping deliveries on doorsteps for well over a decade. Its men’s subscription box, like the women’s and kids’ services, leads the pack with top-notch flexibility and versatility. Not only does it carry over 1,000 well-known and under-the-radar brands, but it also offers a variety of delivery frequency options (every few weeks, monthly, bimonthly, and one-time). And the price points are legit reasonable—items included in boxes retail starting at $25.

Unlike other clothing subscription boxes, you’re not locked into keeping the five items that’ll arrive in your “Fix.” If a tee isn’t your color or a pair of jeans is too similar to one you already own, just return them using the included prepaid label. You’ll be charged a $20 styling fee per box, but it's applied as a credit to any items you choose to keep. If your stylist selected spot-on pieces and you choose to keep all of them, you’ll receive a 25% discount on the cost of the entire box. And you're not just getting clothes—Stitch Fix will send accessories and shoes too, if you so choose.

Best Budget-Friendly: Menlo Club

Menlo Club Subscription Box

Menlo Club

What We Like & What to Consider

  • Affordable price point for a mix of clothing and shoes
  • Monthly or seasonal plan options available
  • Members receive 25% off items in entire store
  • No returns allowed, but size exchanges are accepted within 30 days

Base Price: $40/month | Free Shipping? Yes (excluding AK, HI) | No. of Plans: 2

When it comes to men’s clothing subscription boxes, they don’t come much (if any) more affordable than Menlo Club. For just $60 a month, it’ll send you two to three items from its family of four in-house labels. That selection includes stylish activewear, luxe everyday pieces, and twice a year, a new pair of kicks from New Republic, whose go-with-anything white sneakers are guaranteed to be your new favorite footwear. Including shoes is rare for a subscription box—especially for one at this budget-friendly price point. The clothes you’re sent monthly or seasonally (and yes, you can switch between the two plans whenever) are also curated to complement previous shipments, meaning you’ll develop a seamless new wardrobe.

Menlo Club’s membership policy allows you to pause a subscription for up to three months, and size exchanges are easy too. (Like most subscription boxes though, no returns are allowed.) If you’re more on the minimalist side, opt for a seasonal plan that includes quarterly boxes for the same $60 fee. Not-so-minimalist members can fill out their wardrobe by also shopping at Menlo Club’s online store, where you’ll receive up to 25% off in addition to free shipping.

Best Clothes Rental: Taelor

Taelor clothing subscription box for men

Taelor

What We Like & What to Consider

  • Option to buy pieces for up to 70% off
  • Offerings from over 350 brands
  • Three plan tiers with options for multiple delivers a month
  • Damaged items must be paid for

Base Price: $79/month (with savings on your first month) | Free Shipping? Yes | No. of Plans: 3

Women have enjoyed the splendors of clothing rental services like Rent the Runway for years. It’s time for the fellas to get in on the fun and that’s where Taelor comes in. Taelor can help elevate your look with pieces from brands such as AllSaints, Ted Baker, and Rag & Bone—all without the commitment of keeping the items. Though you can if you want, and the big bonus there is members receive up to 70% off the retail cost. Plus, by renting instead of buying you're fashion has automatically become more sustainable. It's a win-win-win.

The upscale rental service curates a selection of up to five polished pieces for you with a little help from an algorithm and the professional eye of a stylist, then ships them to your doorstep. Then you get a few weeks to wear them however and wherever you want, from a work presentation to your cousin’s wedding to date night. No need to add the dry cleaners to your to-do list either. At the end of the borrowing period, simply return your worn items in the prepaid return bag included in the shipment, since a subscription covers cleaning costs. If you want even more items to try in a month, the two higher tiers ($109/month and $287/quarter respectively) offer 10 pieces that ship in two separate boxes.

Best for Streetwear: ThreadBeast

Thread Beast Subscription Service

Thread Beast

What We Like & What to Consider

  • Offers of-the-moment streetwear products
  • Partners with wide range of brands
  • Tiered memberships for a range of budgets
  • No returns, but size exchanges are allowed

It can be hard to keep up with the latest streetwear trends, but ThreadBeast is here to help. Its subscription boxes are stocked with swag from a wide variety of brands, some you know and love such as Nike and Levi’s, and others like The Hundreds, which is bound to be a new favorite.

After completing a style profile, which also covers fit and color preferences, you’ll choose from one of four tiered memberships. The Basic Plan sends two to three items (mostly tops and accessories) each month for $60/month. Want to upgrade? The Essential Plan, which is $95/month, includes four to five tops, bottoms, and accessories while the Premium Plan costs $150/month and features six to seven items, including big-ticket pieces like outerwear and premium denim. The priciest option is aptly named the Baller Plan, which for $290/month will send you up to 11 pieces per month, including footwear (yes, even trendy sneakers). Baller, indeed. You can only get shoes with the most expensive plan though.

Best for Upscale Casual: UrbaneBox

UrbaneBox Men Subscription Box

UrbaneBox

  • Can pause membership for up to three months at a time

So long, Zoom sweats. To upgrade your work outfits, consider a subscription to UrbaneBox, easily one of the best men’s subscription boxes for upscale yet easy going fashion pieces. First, you’ll take a fairly extensive questionnaire that hones in on your fit preferences, colors you’d rather avoid, and overall style. Then, month after month, the subscription will steadily stock your closet with collared shirts, dress pants, and occasionally a pair of dress shoes too—everything you need to feel your best and nail that presentation.

Each box contains two to three items, though if you have a work trip on the calendar or feel the need for a closet overhaul, you can request additional or larger packages. You can also pause your subscription for up to three months at a time. Perhaps the best perk of UrbaneBox is that you’ll be assigned a dedicated stylist who you can email whenever you need guidance on how to style an item or have a request for next month’s box. While you can't return items, you can exchange them for a better size.

Best Fashion-Forward: Trendy Butler

Trendy Butler Box Subscription

Trendy Butler

What We Like & What to Consider

  • Trendsetting clothes from various brands like Tailor Vintage and Superdry
  • Each box contains a retail value of over $150
  • Members get access to shop
  • Cannot receive a refund on returned items
  • Does not ship to Canada

Base Price: $65/month | Free Shipping? Yes | No. of Plans: 1

Staying on top of fashion trends—like, say, knowing that reinvented boho and Yellowstone-style western wear are in—is fun but time-consuming. If you don’t have the bandwidth to browse a stack of fashion magazines (or read more Byrdie) each month, much less shop in-store, give Trendy Butler a try. The name says it all. Trendy Butler is for the man interested in the latest, well, trends.

For a flat fee of $65 a month, it’ll send you two clothing items (a mix of tops, bottoms, and outerwear) from its wide range of cool brands like Eleven Paris, Stitch’s Jeans, and Superdry to name a few. All pieces are interesting yet elevated basics with sizes ranging from small through large in tops and 29 through 44 in bottoms. It’s a steal, too—the items in each box are guaranteed to have a retail value of at least $150. The only catch is you can't return what you get, but you can exchange it for a different size.

Best for Executive Types: Stately

Stately Subscription Box

Stately

What We Like & What to Consider

  • Personally curated outfits in each box
  • Impressive selection of premium brands
  • Offers four membership tiers
  • Pricier than other subscription boxes
  • No returns allowed, though exchanges are

Base Price: $129/month | Free Shipping? Yes | No. of Plans: 4

If there’s no such thing as a casual day at your workplace, Stately is the subscription box for you. This premium subscription option will spiff up your workwear with high-quality pieces from leading menswear brands. Think: Kenneth Cole, Bonobos, Tommy Hilfiger, and J Brand. What comes in those monthly boxes (which can be scaled back, if you prefer) depends on the membership you invest in. It's one of Conroy's go-to recommendations: "For carefully selected offerings, the subscription service is top tier," she says.

Stately offers four tiered membership options. The entry-level options, Sharp ($129/month) and Luxe ($179/month) include a minimum of three and five pieces respectively, consisting of tops, pants, accessories, and occasionally footwear. Consider the Regal ($299/month) or Presidential ($499/month) if you really want to step it up with a suit or luxury outerwear. You’ll also receive a styling consultation in addition to more expensive items—all with a value of over $1,000. While a Stately subscription is pricey, it is seriously snazzy.

Best for Watches: Watch Gang

Watch Gang Subscription

Watch Gang

What We Like & What to Consider

  • Includes both established and emerging brands
  • Can prepay in three, six, or 12-month increments for additional savings
  • With every shipment, you’re entered to win a watch
  • No free shipping
  • No refunds or returns

Base Price: $120/per month | Free Shipping: No | No. of Plans: 3

If your wrist feels bare without a watch, consider a subscription to Watch Gang. Each month you’ll receive a new mystery watch—some from big, heritage brands and others from small, up-and-coming ones. No matter which watch you receive, it’s bound to become an heirloom and will round out your watch collection in no time.

Here’s how it works: First, you’ll tell Watch Gang what makes you tick, narrowing down your watch style. Are you an executive, an adventurer, or a little of both? Then you’ll choose from one of three membership tiers, which start at $60/month (or per watch). Another bonus: Each week, members are entered in three giveaways to win a Rolex, TAG Heuer, and Seiko watch. You never know when it could be your lucky day. Our only issue with this one is you don't get free shipping, but considering the steep discounts on a quality watch, it's not a dealbreaker.

What to Look for in a Clothing Subscription Service for Men

  • Plan flexibility: While a monthly clothing subscription service will keep you in a steady supply of outfits, you may find you need to take a break from time to time. Look for a subscription service that allows you to take some months off, or switch to a different plan tier whenever you need/want. That way, you can keep the subscription around without feeling locked into the same steady deduction from your bank account every month.
  • Exchange or return policies: Clothing subscriptions typically offer products at a discount from what you'd find in the average department store (that's part of their appeal), but that also means they don't often accept returns on items you don't like. There are some exceptions though—with clothing rental subscriptions, for example, you return everything every month unless you decide to purchase an item.
  • A sizeable brand library: If you're going to commit to a clothing subscription service, you'll want to know they have a lot of brands and styles to choose from. It's a good idea to do a search of the inventory before committing if you can, and make sure they have items that pique your interest so you'll likely get outfits that excite you in each order. Conroy agrees: "No matter how many great brands a service offers if you can’t rent an array of styles and cuts in various materials, what’s the point?"
  • Stylist assistance: Many people who sign up for clothing subscription services either don't have time to shop or have trouble putting outfits together that they truly like or think work for functions they have to attend. That's why these services often provide a personal stylist who helps curate your boxes based on preferences you share with them before you receive your first shipment.
FAQ
  • How Do Clothing Subscription Boxes for Men Work?

Most clothing subscription boxes begin with a style quiz, which helps the service narrow down spot-on picks for you. You’ll also answer questions about sizing, fit, and sometimes budget. Then the service—either a stylist, an algorithm, or a combination of the two—will select items (usually two or three pieces) based on your preferences and ship them straight to your doorstep. Many subscription boxes offer monthly plans, and others allow you to have a box delivered on demand or seasonally.

  • How Much Do Clothing Subscription Boxes Cost?

Monthly subscription boxes vary in price. Affordable options start as low as $20 a month, while premium clothing and accessory offerings can cost upward of $300 a month. Most, however, fall somewhere in the middle. Looking for a long-term commitment? Some clothing boxes offer a certain percentage off if you pay upfront for an annual subscription.

  • Why Should I Get a Clothing Subscription Box for Men?

If you’re short on time, a clothing subscription box saves you from endless scrolling or dressing room try-ons. Often you receive a deal on the retail price of the items too, assuming you like (and wear) the selections. The constant refresh of your wardrobe is also a bonus, and so is the element of surprise. It's also great for men who don't fit average-sized clothes. "If you shop in the big and tall section, rental clothing subscriptions are especially helpful. Finding stylish XXL pieces can be so frustrating that you just want to give up on shopping. But having a subscription box removes all of that annoyance while keeping your style game strong," says Conroy.

  • What Types of Clothes Do You Get in a Clothing Subscription Box?

Most men’s clothing subscription boxes have a theme, however subtle or specific. Some cater to streetwear, while others stock your closet with elevated staples. Other subscription boxes focus on accessories or collector's items like watches. Choose whichever specializes in what your wardrobe is lacking while still aligning with your style.
