NXT 2.0 has put a lot of new faces on WWE television, and it sounds like the company plans to cycle through the talents being introduced on Tuesday nights fairly quickly. That means more of something wrestling fans always seem to be interested in - the trademark-able WWE-owned names given to wrestlers - usually with input from the talents themselves.
A new one hit today (Nov. 9). It’s noteworthy not because it’s “out there” like Bron Breakker, but because the real name its replacing may have been marketable on its own.
The name is DAMON KEMP and I' am going to smash your favorite Super Star.. coming soon

Bobby Steveson is the brother of Olympic gold medalist Gable Steveson, who signed with WWE earlier this year and was drafted to Raw last month without officially debuting on television (he appeared at SummerSlam prior to signing a deal).
So while Damon Kemp is a fine, if a little bland, name for a wrestler, Gable isn’t likely to work under a WWE moniker. And that could mean no Steveson Brothers tag team - an idea even Bobby was pretty hyped for when his brother signed:
THE STEVESON BROTHERS, @WWE I can already hear it shaking arenas around the country.

Of course, they can always Kemp’s name back if they decide to go for a modern day Steiners vibe with the two amateur wrestling standouts from the University of Minnesota.
It’s not like WWE doesn’t love to tweak their character’s names...
