My son and I did this together for his school project this year. He was required to make an edible plant cell. We made the extra cupcakes so everyone in his class got their own individual cell. We used various candies for the plant cell parts and labeled them with toothpicks and paper flags we printed. Icing is buttercream and we used food coloring to dye the cake green. I was very proud of him on this, he worked really hard on it.
