Firing order is 123456. Number one being left front cylinder or passenger side front. Cylinders run 1-3-5 going back, driver's side goes back 2-4-6 distributor number one is right in the middle to the front of cap and it turns clockwise. Picturing it as a clock, six o'clock on a clock is number one and then around 2 3 4 5 6.

Firing order is as followed I am a mechanic and have a 87 s10 the firing order is driver side is 1,3,6 passenger side firing order is 2,4,6 on the distributor cap after you have installed the rotor and the new cap the order is like a clock 1 goes at the bottom to the left if your in front of the engine it goes 1,2,3,4,5,6 and the lone wire goes in the middle just make sure you follow your wires to the right plug to make sure the firing order is correct or there is no fire and it will code misfire

Some of the older 2.8L V-6 have a different firing order. It's 1-6-5-4-3-2. Distributor turns clockwise
