- Support the Scott Graf Memorial Exceptional Captain AwardSo many of us have had Scott Graf make a lasting impact in our lives. Whether it was at school, on the ice, or wherever you knew him from, Scott made sure you’d walk away with a smile on your face. That’s part of the reason his untimely passing this March has left so many of us mourning. For me, it’s hard not to think of Scott’s time with the Hespeler Shamrocks and all of his accomplishments. He made everyone around him a better person. Not just a better hockey player…a better person. As much as on-ice accolades matter, and he has them in spades, I think the greatest compliment you’ll find about Scott if you ask any teammate, coach or parent, is how respectful and likable he was off the ice. He was exceptional in so many ways. In an effort to pay respect to Scott and celebrate his contributions to the Hespeler Shamrocks, his teammates, coaches, and anyone who had the pleasure of knowing him, we will be presenting to the Hespeler Minor Hockey Association board of directors on June 7 to have an award created in his memory (see below). We kindly ask that you show support by signing this petition to be presented to the board. Thank you. Scott Graf Memorial Exceptional Captain Award Description: Awarded to a Shamrocks captain who has exhibited exceptional skill, competitiveness, and leadership on and off the ice. Coaches will nominate a captain or assistant captain from their team with a written explanation as to why that player meets the award description. If possible, we would like to have a member of the Graf family or former teammate of Scott’s present the award each year.Ryan Young2525/26/21
