Burrow is out for the year. How much addition damage there is will determine when he’s able to return in 2021.

The unfortunate news that we all knew was coming is here.

Joe Burrow is officially out for the remainder of the 2020 season after suffering what is reportedly a torn ACL on Sunday against the Washington Football Team, according to Ian Rapoport. And it’s still unclear if there is any additional damage to the injured left knee.

Burrow was putting together a big day offensively as he had already passed for 203-yards and a TD before suffering the injury.

A lot of people knew that Burrow would be lucky to get through the season with all the pressure that he had faced from opposing defenses.

Bengals fans had their first scare against the Pittsburgh Steelers when Burrow suffered an apparent ankle injury after a late hit out of bounds.

One week later, an unfortunate hit to the knee after a pass has brought the No. 1 overall pick’s impressive rookie season to an end.

If we have learned one thing about Burrow in his short NFL career, it is that he is very tough, and we should all expect him to return ready to get Cincinnati back to winning football games.

Burrow took to Twitter following the injury to thank everyone for the love and set his eyes on getting back on the field in 2021.

It’s heartbreaking for Burrow to have his rookie season cut short. Everyone is wishing him a speedy recovery and I know everyone is excited to see him take the field next season.

Get well soon, Joe.
