A Manchester charity shop has revealed how a haul of clothes donated last week turned out to have some serious pop provenance.
The Children's Air Ambulance, based in Salford, shared snaps on Facebook of a clothes rail heavy with exuberant outfits - along with a note saying they'd been used for rehearsals in Madonna's 2023 Celebration tour.
The Like a Prayer singer, 66, toured the globe celebrating her four-decade long career in October 2023, ending with a free concert on Copacabana Beach in Rio in May this year.

The star spent time in the city ahead of her tour's first date in London, putting in hours of rehearsals in at Manchester's AO Arena - after block booking it to perfect the 81-date tour that saw 1.1 million people watch the pop icon perform.
A note on the rail read: 'Donated to us from the dress rehearsals at the AO Arena for Madonna's Celebration tour '23'.
On Facebook, the Salford charity shop then advertised its new stock in a pun-filled post, writing: 'Are you a Material Girl or do you just like to Strike A Pose? We’ve got you covered.
'We have been donated some amazing pieces from the dress rehearsal of Madonna’s Celebration tour at the AO Arena.
Amongst the items on sale at the Children's Air Ambulance charity shop were a pair of desert plaid 'bondage pants' adorned with zips by US brand Tripp for £25, and a well-worn pale pink tutu for £20

Among the items on sale were a pair of tartan trousers adorned with zips for £25 and a well-worn pale pink tutu for £20.
Many of the clothes were from US brand Tripp, which was founded by designer Daang Goodman in New York's East Village in the 1980s.
The brand describes its clothes as featuring 'signature bondage pants, unique washes and hardware, and the creation of “Dark Street”, a counterculture take on streetwear.'

On sale was a pair of beige Tripp trousers for a bargainous £7.50. A new pair of Tripp jeans retails at around £120 - so even without the star quality those snapping up the items are grabbing a bargain.
One shopper browsing for charity shop gold, PR manager Alex Fisher, spotted them in the store on Friday, sharing her find on TikTok and saying: ‘Clothes from Madonna’s tour in a Manchester charity shop!!! Appaz she wore some of these.'

Madonna's Celebration tour reached a heady climax on Brazil's most famous beach, with 1.6 million fans turning out for an epic free concert on Rio de Janeiro's Copacabana beach.
