Paints needed: -White -Black -VMC Beige Red -VMC Neutral Grey -VMC Ivory -Army Painter Soft Tone -Army Painter Strong Tone -Army Painter Dark Tone -Varnish (I use Pledge floor gloss and AK Interactive Ultra Matte)

I find that the colors and patterns found in nature can seem every bit as alien as the creations of sci-fi artists, so looking to real-world examples for inspiration can be useful even when painting fictional monsters. Here's one example.

Mantic: Kings of War Vanguard- Trident Realms Riverguard Dambuster unboxed and built! by Obscurities in Miniature Yeah... all those names and titles are a bit of a mouthful. Sounds a bit strange. But here's an armored frog being ridden by a smaller samurai- inspired frog to totally make things much more normal. I couldn't resist this figure. It's so Saturday morning cartoon levels of silliness that it surpasses goofy and transcends it. I really like this model far more than I should. Plus he's an actual Vanguard unit! With cards included! Do you want frog on frog cavalry? You should. A shame he looks so much better than the basic Riverguard models. I think I'll have to just get some Privateer frogs instead.
