Technology-based Community Knowledge Achieving Disaster Resilience in Urbanised Areas
Welcome to DigitalDRR!
Welcome to DigitalDRR.
At DigitalDRR, we are passionate about harnessing the power of technology to create a safer and more resilient world in the face of natural and man-made disasters. Our aim is to bring together individuals, experts, and communities who share a common goal: to mitigate the impact of disasters and build a collective understanding of risk reduction strategies empowered with digital technology application.
We believe that knowledge is the key to preparedness, and our platform serves as a hub where you can access the latest insights, research, and best practices in disaster risk reduction. Through the collaborative efforts of our partners and collaborators, we aim to foster innovation, knowledge sharing, and the development of cutting-edge solutions that can make a real difference in times of crisis.
Our first project, "Technology-based Community Knowledge; Achieving Disaster Resilience in Urbanised Areas", is proudly sponsored by Royal Academy of Engineering, through its prestigious Frontiers Champion scheme. In this project, we are collaborating with Assoc. Prof Mohammad Abdur Razzaque from Teesside University, UK as well as Dr. Alfi Rahman and Dr. Yunita Idris from Tsunami and Disaster Mitigation Research Centre, Universitas Syiah Kuala, Indonesia.
Through a series of multidisciplinary podcasts, webinars, and a stakeholder workshop, the project aims at building a network of multidisciplinary academic and practitioners to raise awareness and instigate effective collaboration between researchers and practitioners in DT and DRR discipline. It will also open up discussions to seek innovative ideas for the wider adoption of digital technologies to help achieve disaster resilience in the built environment.
