Marathon Weekend 2025

There doesn't seem to be any link or any way to register in advance. I think they could just show up.
It states "No advance registration required. Simply drop by to join the fun." Wondering what they will take for proof--I'm staying with a DVC member. Will have to ask if she is eligible for "Membership Extras" I assume that's all about where you purchased your contract.

I can't imagine they'd even be checking people in for this unless it gets super crowded. But technically you need a "blue card" membership if they are.

Man packing for this feels like a way different experience than it was three years ago. I think I had one pair of light potential throwaway pants (not used), a couple of throwaway top layers (both tossed), and that may have been it. Had the freebie long sleeve shirts just in case. This time it's two pairs of sweatpants/sweatshirt that are definitely getting tossed, two sets of UA base layers (expecting to use one, second is just in case), two quarter zips (one might get race use, other is for pre and post race), a few pairs of throwaway gloves, and a couple of caps. And this time I'm bringing PB&J because they're not getting me with those 10 dollar race boxes again. Packed suitcase for a week! At least the load will be a little lighter on the way back.... except for the new shirts and medals. 😵‍💫

And here's nekonekoneko with the last forecast before he goes on vacation to Walt Disney World.

Thanks Jim!

So the numbers have all been getting closer to each other, except for one day. Since The National Weather Service put out their forecast, most of the other weather sites have been moving their numbers to match those. Thursday morning looks like it will be 37-39, followed by 40-42 for Friday morning and 42-43 on Sunday morning. You'll notice I skipped Saturday.

As said higher up the thread, there's a decent chance of rain Saturday morning. This is causing issues with the consensus of how warm (or cold) it will be outside. The cloud cover will probably prevent much of the radiational cooling we will be getting the other nights. The National Weather Service says it will be 57, which is much warmer than the other nights. But, there is very little agreement. The range is anywhere from 44 to 62! That's throwing darts blindfolded.

For people coming in the next couple of days, just be ready for anything, especially on Saturday. People coming in a little later will have some more time for the data to start agreeing.

Ok Jim, I'm going to Disney World!

201XX Dopey. POT 1:36:56 HM. The POT I used this year was 6 seconds faster than last year’s POT and the XX on this year’s bib is 3 numbers lower than last year. So pretty positive I am in A again this year. Wouldn’t it have been cool to get the exact same bib #? Just missed by 3.

I've got all my bags packed. My checked bag is barely under weight (I had to give up a pair of park shoes to get it there) and my carry-ons are packed full. It's so much easier on the way home when I'm willing to check 2 bags, but I don't want to risk not having my race clothes, and most of my race shoes.

Disney World, I'll see you tomorrow!!
