It’s almost time for a regeneration as Jodie Whittaker will be taking her final bow as The Doctor in the upcoming The Power of the Doctor special that will air on October 23rd. They also released a new trailer for the special here. The trailer has it all including Daleks, Cybermen, volcanoes and Sacha Dhawan as The Master. The BBC says the episode will see the 13th Doctor answer “Who is attacking a speeding bullet train on the edges of a distant galaxy? Why are seismologists going missing from 21st-century Earth? Who is defacing some of history’s most iconic paintings? Why is a Dalek trying to make contact with the Doctor? And just what hold does the mesmeric Rasputin have over Tsar Nicholas in 1916 Russia? The Doctor faces multiple threats… and a battle to the death.” Whittaker will be replaced by Ncuti Gatwa (Sex Education) who will be the first full-time Black Doctor.

Directors Anthony Russo and Joe Russo‘s sci-fi feature launches on the streaming service March 14, 2025. Rounding out the cast are Ke Huy Quan, Jason Alexander, Woody Norman, Giancarlo Esposito and Stanley Tucci, with voice work from Woody Harrelson, Anthony Mackie, Brian Cox, Jenny Slate, Hank Azaria, Colman Domingo and Alan Tudyk.

The Electric State centers on a teenager (Brown) and her robot friend joining a wanderer (Pratt) to track down the girl’s missing younger brother in the 1990s following a war between humans and machines.

The final film in Sony Animation’s Spider-Verse trilogy has found its directors as Bob Persichetti and Justin K. Thompson have been set to helm Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse.

“We have had the immense privilege of being part of Miles’ journey from the very beginning, and directing the conclusion to his story is beyond exciting,” said Persichetti and Thompson. “The creativity and care poured into every minute of this project has been truly inspiring. We have crafted what we feel is a very satisfying ending, and we can’t wait for fans to experience it – we’re bringing everything we’ve got!”

Persichetti and Thompson have been integral members of the franchise’s creative team from the onset. Persichetti previously served as part of the Oscar-winning directorial team on 2018’s Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, and was an executive producer on last year’s Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse. Thompson served as the production designer on Into the Spider-Verse, where he was instrumental in developing the franchise’s groundbreaking visual style.

Prime Video has renewed its freshman animated series Secret Level for a second season. Additional new episodes from Season 1 were released on the streamer today.

From Amazon MGM Studios and Blur Studio, Secret Level is an adult-animated anthology series featuring original stories set within the worlds of popular video games. Season 1 includes episodes highlighting Dungeons & Dragons, Sifu, New World, Unreal Tournament, Warhammer 40,000, Pac-Man, Crossfire, Armored Core, The Outer Worlds, Mega Man and Honor of Kings, to name a few. From the creatives behind Love, Death + Robots, each of the episodes is a celebration of games and gamers.

The title premiered on Dec 10, and within its first week, Prime Video says it became their largest new animated series debut compared to other recent releases including Sausage Party, Hazbin Hotel, Invincible and The Legend of Vox Machina. (via Deadline)

Mason Gooding will be back for more “Scream.”

Variety is reporting that the actor will reprise his role as Chad Meeks-Martin for the seventh installment of the horror franchise. Jasmin Savoy Brown, who plays Chad’s sister Mindy, has not officially signed on yet.

News of Gooding’s return comes after the film weathered production delays, creative overhauls and cast shakeups. Back in March, Gooding addressed the hiccups. “If it could make money, I guarantee, they’re making it,” he said. “It’s all about keeping up with what feels like is the best movie for the fans. ‘Scream’ doesn’t exist without the people who enjoy is as much as they do. … If people want it, they will certainly try their best to see it happen.”

“Scream 7” is slated to release in theaters on Feb. 27, 2026. Paramount Pictures will distribute the film, which Spyglass Media is producing.
