Detailed Overview of College:

Established in 1961, the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad (IIMA) stands as a beacon of academic excellence and leadership development in the realm of management education. With a rich legacy spanning over six decades, IIMA has consistently maintained its position among the top-tier business schools globally. The institute's flagship two-year Post Graduate Program in Management (PGP) is renowned for its rigorous curriculum and case-based pedagogy, preparing students for leadership roles in diverse industries.

IIMA was the first Indian B-School to receive EQUIS (European Quality Improvement System) accreditation, by the European Foundation for Management Development (EFMD) in June 2008 and has maintained EQUIS accreditation since then. It was re-accredited in 2020 for another five years, the maximum length of time for which EQUIS accredits an institution.

IIMA is more than an institution of higher learning. It's governed and administered like any global corporation by an able team of officers and administrative staff. The Board of Governors for IIMA is the principal executive body of the Institute. Headed by the Chairperson, the Board is responsible for the general superintendence, direction and control of the affairs of the Institute and has the power to frame or amend or modify or rescind the regulations governing the affairs of the Institute to achieve the objectives of the Institute. IIMA has dedicated administrative departments to support the functioning of the institution.

Distinguished faculty is a hallmark of IIMA, with accomplished scholars and industry practitioners guiding students through a dynamic and transformative learning experience. The institute's commitment to research and innovation is evident in its cutting-edge academic programs, fostering critical thinking and strategic decision-making skills among students. The one-year Post Graduate Program in Food and Agri-business Management (PGP-FABM) further reflects IIMA's adaptability to the evolving needs of various sectors.

With a strong emphasis on social responsibility and entrepreneurial initiatives, IIMA goes beyond traditional academic boundaries. Through impactful projects and a commitment to fostering innovation, the institute continues to shape leaders who drive positive change in both corporate and societal spheres. IIMA's enduring legacy, distinguished faculty, global outlook, and commitment to holistic development make it a cornerstone of management education worldwide.

Admissions Process:

1.     MBA

Eligibility:

Candidates applying to IIMA must hold a bachelor's degree with a minimum of 50% marks or equivalent CGPA (45% for SC/ST/PwD) from recognized institutions, encompassing three years of post-higher secondary education. The percentage calculation adheres to the practices of the degree-awarding institution, with IIMA determining equivalence for grades/CGPA. Final-year applicants can apply, subject to submitting a certification of current status and minimum required marks. Provisional admission, if selected, mandates submitting a certificate by June 30, 2024, affirming degree completion, with final confirmation requiring mark-sheet and degree submission by December 31, 2024. Non-compliance results in automatic provisional admission cancellation. IIMA strictly upholds the June 30, 2024, deadline for fulfilling all bachelor’s degree requirements, emphasizing its importance for PGP Batch 2024-26 eligibility.

Admission Process:

The admission process for the PGP at IIM Ahmedabad through CAT-2023 involves two steps. Firstly, candidates with a valid CAT-2023 score, who applied and meet the eligibility criteria, are shortlisted for Analytical Writing Test (AWT) and Personal Interview (PI). It's important to note that foreign nationals residing in India must take the current version of the GMAT Exam and apply through the Supernumerary Quota category.

b.     Application Rating:

The applicant's 'Application Rating' (AR) score, a sum of rating scores from Tables 2-5, is crucial at various selection stages. Derived from percentage marks in 10th, 12th, bachelor’s degree (discipline-specific), and work experience, the equivalent ARs are determined using previous year’s CAT data percentiles for different streams/disciplines.
