Mega Man Super Smash Bros. Ultimate moves list, strategy guide, combos and character overview

Overview

Weight: 102 Tiers Ranking Popularity: 61st

Mega Man was revealed for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate along with most of the roster on June 12, 2018 during the "Everyone Is Here" trailer. The "Blue Bomber" has been labeled as Fighter #46.

The participation of Capcom's mascot character in Super Smash Bros. 4 was originally announced on June 11, 2013. This "Super Fighting Robot" made his first video game appearance on December 17, 1987, but his most successful entry was Mega Man 2 which was released on December 24, 1988 which has since sold over 1.51 million units.

By default, Mega Man is sporting his classic blue colors across his body, with just a little bit of "skin" showing out of his helmet. His alternate costumes are references to various powers he's copied and used from Robot Masters throughout the games.

Mega Man is probably best described as a mid-range zoning character. It's necessary for him to constantly poke at enemies using his jab, forward tilt and neutral aerial, which are all capable of shooting up to three energy pellets to disrupt enemies. Since these attacks are used frequently, they have a unique property in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate where they will never stale from overuse.

Despite being on the shorter side, Mega Man is actually a fairly heavy character with a weight of 102. Combined with his useful up special which allows him to still act after usage, Mega Man is capable of surviving until very high percentages.

Despite these strengths, Mega Man can falter a bit due to his somewhat slow movement options and lack of melee attacks. This can sometimes make it difficult for Mega Man to keep opponents out. At times, Mega Man can also sometimes struggle to fight against fighters with reflectors.

Due to Mega Man's unique tools and play style, his match ups tend to either have him counter opponents or be countered himself. As a result of this, Mega Man tends to be seen as a high tier or mid tier within the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate competitive community.
