YOU’VE BEEN A SOCIAL WORKER YOUR WHOLE WORKING LIFE. HOW DID THAT COME TO BE?

I think it was in Standard 8 [Grade 10] that I met a social worker who made a good impression on me, and I thought that was a good role model. It sounded like acareer I wanted to follow. I graduated from Wits in 1972 with an honours degree in social work.
