NOT ALL ex-fighters are articulate TV analysts, successful trainers or multi-millionaires thriving in the boxing afterlife. It is of course important to paint boxing in a good light wherever possible, but let’s not gloss over the indisputable truth that we’re all disciples of a sport more likely to leave its participants damaged than rich and famous.
Ringside Charitable Trust (RCT) continues to operate in an industry in which it feels most unwelcome. The registered charity, designed purely to help those former boxers who are experiencing difficulties in retirement, should by now, five years after it was founded, be a staple rather than the nuisance it is too frequently deemed to be.
It’s too
