She is a winner of two Lambda Literary awards and the British Crime Writers’ award for best thriller set in Europe. As Barbara Sjoholm, she is the author of fiction and narrative nonfiction, including Incognito Street and The Pirate Queen. Her translations from Norwegian and Danish have been awarded prizes and fellowships from the American-Scandinavian Foundation and the National Endowment for the Arts.
