I was the fi rst born of three children; Anna Hayward and Curtis Gerald Robinson. I moved to a farm in Sandersville MS at four years of age.
My education included grammar school and high school at Sandersville Special Consolidated High School followed by two years at Jones County Junior College and two years at Mississippi State University; graduating with a B.S. degree in Math and Science (Education) in 1959.
My ambition was to secure a job in order to provide for my wife and three children. My wife; Mary Lucille Windham, and I married November 21, 1956 while she was in nursing training.
I spent a short time in construction of homes and one year teaching school at the school where I graduated and six years in supervision at Armstrong Tire Co., Natchez, MS.
Economics and a desire to get back to my home town and family dictated that I secure employment with Sanderson Farms Inc. in Laurel, MS where I managed two processing plants in Laurel, MS; 1968 to 1971, and Hazlehurst, MS from 1971 to 1974. I spent about six months managing a poultry processing plant in Birmingham, AL and moved back to Sanderson Farms in Laurel, MS in 1974. I served as manager of Safety and
Health with Sanderson until retirement in 1999 for a period of 25 years.
We were recognized for outstanding service in the field of “Industrial Safety Professionals” and gained the status of a “Certified Safety Professional”, in 1974 during my employment there.
Our children: Jimmy Dean, Jr. was born in Laurel, MS, July 30, 1958; Mark Anthony was born in Laurel, MS, September 25, 1959 and Steven Wade was born November 17, 1963 in Natchez, MS.

Achievements include securing a patent from the U.S. Patent office in December 1982 for a piece of equipment we developed for the poultry industry.view less
