Having been successful in her two year early In-Servie Training at the Caledonia Junior college and Mico Teachers’ college, she later entered the Moneague Teachers’ college for full training. During the 45 years of her entire career, she taught children from 4 1/2 to 18 years old.
Music and poetry made her entire career delightful with the youngsters. Book of a Thousand Poems was widely used along with other poetry books - to aid speech, memory and provide enjoyment, but she also composed her own poems in various subject areas.
All the poems in this book were selected from her compositions for the theme chosen. Few of the songs in the second half of this book were written by her, but the others are adapted and acknowledged, so used because of the theme selected, and the idea of preserving some of our national songs for posterity. This book is dedicated to all her beloved children.view less
