      Though the book seems like a re-hash of Wikipedia articles, I congradulate the author on the sheer amount of books he has written. He also voices all of his audiobooks, which is an impressive amount of effort, even though the actual content is lackluster. I applaud the author's tenacity and hope he soon finds more success.

    1.0 Introduction

    This is a book on Cryptozoology which means it is all about extremely rare animals which might exist or might even be imaginary.

    This subject has always been fascinating to me. What if there are some dinosaurs living today in the deep jungles of Africa which science has never proven to exist? This statement sounds outlandish but we have found ancient fish in the sea who were supposed to have died out millions of years ago. A good example is the Coelacanth which was originally only known from fossils and was thought to have died when the dinosaurs died.

    The coelacanth, which is related to lungfishes and tetrapods, was believed to have been extinct since the end of the Cretaceous period. More closely related to tetrapods than to the ray-finned fish, coelacanths were considered transitional species between fish and tetrapods. On 23 December 1938, the first Latimeria specimen was found off the east coast of South Africa, off the Chalumna River (now Tyolomnqa). Museum curator Marjorie Courtenay-Latimer discovered the fish among the catch of a local angler. Here is a picture of one:

    There are literally hundreds of animals which people have claimed to have seen so I’m only covering a few of the best known cases for which there is some evidence that they really exist.

    Also, some people wonder if these strange and extremely rare animals have come to us from another dimension or traveled through time if they are real. We will assume for the purpose of this book that if these animals are real that they live in undiscovered nests and places but are real residents of this Earth.

    I’m not including some animals such as the Loch Ness Monster which has had books and articles written about it for decades. We will mainly be covering those animals which might be proved to exist but which are lesser known.

    One of my main goals here is to provide an open minded evaluation of the reality of the animals in question based on publically available information. At the end of each chapter there is an evaluation section where I draw my conclusions based on the available evidence.

    I also don’t’ believe that many people just make these things up. Most of their reports
