      AN OLD SHAKER hymn says, Tis a gift to be simple, tis a gift to be free. Teri Brady, in her book The Testimony of Simple Truths from God, has aptly demonstrated her gift to be simple and free. The truths she shares are at the same time both simple and profound. What makes them profound is that they are validated through the experiences of her life. They are not just abstract truths; they are filled with the practical stuff of life. They are truths made real in real-life situations.

      As a university professor observing and interacting with Teri as one of my students, I have seen Teri grow as a student and as one of God’s precious treasures. She has shown grace, the God-given ability to overcome much adversity, and the resiliency to bounce back after divorce, addictions, cancer, and more.

      In my book Finding Your Niche, I describe how we find our niche, our purpose and calling in life, through, among other things, our life message—how we were knocked down and God picked us up, how we were in bondage and Jesus Christ set us free, how we were in distress and disease, and God healed us, how we were in defeat and how we overcame through Christ. In this book, Teri has found and shared her life message, her victory in many of these very things. The power of her testimony can impact the lives of others encountering similar struggles.

I ask you today, are you ready to become an overcomer by the blood of the Lamb and the word of your testimony?
