About this ebook
This book is an attempt to compile the mythological narrative of the Siddhnath Temple at Vanwar. It is also a story of the conflict between Vaishnavism and Shaivism. Shiva is in battle with Asuras and fights against Shri Krishna. This symbolizes the un-Aryanization of Shiva. The story of giving sonship to the demon Bamasur increased his popularity among the majority of the indigenous people. It is possible that due to the emergence of Buddhist and other contemporary religions, the popularity of Sanatan religion in the Indian subcontinent has declined in the majority. Then the Brahmins incorporated such stories into Purana to bring back the Bahujan deprived group through Shiva

Shonitpur, also known as Lohitpur, was their capital. (Shonitpur has been identified as South Sonpur village from the mountain range which is located near Bela.)

To remedy this crisis on Asuras, Banasura did the hard penance of Lord Ashutosh. Pleased Shiva and saved his capital Sonitpur from being consumed. Pleased with his penance, Lord Shankar gave him the boon of Sahastrabahu and immense force. Banasura had obtained this boon from his austerity and Shiva devotion, but he did not believe in faith that his thousand arms had the strength of thousand elephants. To test it, he attacked the Banawar mountain range. At the stroke, the mountain was broken up with round pieces of rock. Banasura was stunned at his power, then he remembered the Trinetdhari. He got scared that Lord Shankar should not be cursed by this misuse of force, please curse him. As soon as this thing came to mind, he started collecting small pieces of scattered stone from his Sahastrabahu and giving it the shape of
