About this ebook
Studies indicate that only about 5% of people ever actually realize the goals they set out to achieve. There are likely a number of reasons for this — but a primary factor is lack of focus. Losing focus happens to everyone at some point or another. But when we lose that drive, our motivation is usually next to go.
In Motivated Mornings: How to Stay Focused and Driven Every Day, an audio course from Scribd Coach, leadership coach Sarah Moffat explains how to seize that focus, hold onto it, and make the most of it. Moffat encourages listeners to maintain the inertia toward their goals by explaining the source of motivation, how to design motivating goals that captivate your attention, and what to do when your motivation flags. At the heart of Moffat’s course is a crash course on designing a motivating routine to help you meet your goals. She also offers exercises so you can start seeing the benefits of increased focus in your life right away.
If you’re looking to level up your motivation, Sarah Moffat is just the person to help.

Introduction
Hello everyone! My name is Sarah Moffat, and this is Motivated Mornings: How to Stay Focused and Driven Every Day,
a course from Scribd. Thank you for joining me. We’re going to go through inspiring, empowering, energizing information in this course that will help transform not just your daily routine, but your goals and attitude. I’m so glad you’re here.
Over the years, studies have shown that only about 5% of people ever actually realize the goals they set out to achieve. Just 5%! This raises the question: Why does this happen? What’s stopping ordinary people from achieving the lives that they want?
My hypothesis is simply that people tend to lack focus. They set themselves up — they say, I want to be successful,
they say, I want to accomplish this thing
— but then they lose focus. They lose that drive that’s within them.
It’s certainly nothing to be ashamed of because it’s something we’ve all experienced at one point or another. We’ve all got busy lives, and many of us face overwhelming obstacles that make it difficult to focus on our personal goals. But whatever the reason, once we lose focus and lose our drive, we lose the motivation to achieve the goals we’ve set for ourselves.
And that’s what this course is going to be all about: How to seize that focus and that drive, how to hold onto it and make the most of it. It comes down to the idea of inertia, the notion that things continue doing what they’re already doing: Once we pick up speed toward our goals, we start to gather motivation.
So how are you and I going to keep the inertia up? How are we going to stay motivated? And what do we do when we start to lose motivation? You’re going to learn about all of that in this course. My hope is that you’ll walk away from each unit feeling like you have a little bit more control over how you approach your goals and how you frame your own personal calling, and with the tools to manage and control your motivation. More importantly, you’ll have the actionable knowledge and skills necessary
