Cosmic Promise of Children - Neera Sawhney Chopra Ridhhi Kapoor

    chapter 1

    Promise of Children

At the time of marriage one of the most important points to be checked is the ability/capability of the male and female to have children. Both the charts should have a strong 5H and yogas for having children without afflictions. Afflictions could lead to delay, complications during pregnancy or childbirth, or a complete denial of progeny if there are multiple afflictions or severe afflictions. However, if there is no affliction and the dasha pattern and transits are favourable one can have children without any delay or problems.

Parameters for promise of children (In D-1, D-9 and D-7)

    1.5th House/Lord

    2.Karaka Jupiter

    3.5th House from Jupiter

    4.9th House/Lord

    5.2nd House/Lord

6.Beej Sphuta /Kshetra Sphuta (* See glossary for details)

This is the chart of a native who had no children in his first two marriages and is blessed with twins from his third marriage.

In the D-1 chart, 5H is dagdha rashi for the native and has debilitated Mercury, which is the 8L conjunct Sun, a separative planet posited in it. It is further afflicted by the aspect of 6L Mars and Ketu. Jupiter the 5L is posited in the Lagna and is also afflicted by Ketu. This is clearly indicative of the obstacles he would face in begetting progeny.

The redeeming factor for this chart is the placement of Jupiter. "Jupiter posited in the Lagna removes all doshas " and is the 5L aspecting the 5H from the Lagna. "If 5H is Pisces, wife will be barren but if Jupiter is aspecting the 5H then he will have the pleasure of a son. "

Beej Sphuta is placed in a barren sign in D-1 and D-9 respectively (Leo and Virgo). It is also in an odd sign in D-1 and in an even sign in D-9 which confirms the difficulty in begetting a child. Beej Sphuta being in kendra to Jupiter indicates that medical support can help, and the native had twins via IVF.

This is further confirmed in the Saptamsha (D-7) chart. 5H is in Rahu/Ketu axis and Gulika is placed in the Lagna confirming the difficulty in having a child. However, there is house exchange between 2L Venus and 5L Saturn which clearly shows the promise of a child. Further, Mercury the Lagna Lord of D-7 is in mutual aspect with 5L of D-1 and karaka Jupiter and is posited in the 6H conjunct Mars confirming the need for medical intervention.

In the D-1 chart, 5H is a dual sign with Mercury a dual planet posited there, and aspected by Jupiter, another dual planet. Jupiter is also the 5L indicating the birth of twins.

In the Saptamsha (D-7) chart, Beej Sphuta is placed in a dual sign, and is aspected by its dispositor Jupiter, which is also the karaka for children confirming, the birth of twins. Saturn as the 5L & posited in the 2H of family explains the delay in having children. The native had children during the dasha of Jupiter-Saturn.

This native has only one child.

"Lagna Lord placed in 5H causes arishta to the first child. "Here, the 5H has Lagna Lord Sun posited in it conjunct 12L Moon. 5L Jupiter-karaka for children is also the 8L and is aspected by badhakesh Mars from the 8H of obstacles rendering it weak. Mars, the 9L is posited in the 8H. 2L Mercury is posited in the 6H aspected by 6L Saturn, Ketu and 5L & 8L Jupiter. Rahu conjunct Saturn can deny progeny. Therefore, at first glance when reading the kundli, it looks like a case of denial of children.

Kshetra Sphuta in D-1 is in an even rashi and is in Rahu/Ketu axis. However, its dispositor Venus is posited in the 4H with friendly planets and is aspecting Kshetra Sphuta providing strength to it. In the Navamsha (D-9) chart, Kshetra Sphuta though in an odd rashi, is posited in the 8H and is aspected by Rahu from the 12H and by its’ dispositor Mars from the 5H. This ensured that even though posited in an odd rashi, Kshetra Sphuta is not spoilt here. In the Saptamsha (D-7) chart, Kshetra Sphuta is in an even rashi conjunct an exalted 5L Mars.

On closer look, Sun in the 5H is not placed alone, it is conjunct Moon (Amavasya birth). According to Nadi astrology, Sun in the 5H is considered weak. Moon in the 5H promises the birth of a daughter. Venus conjunct Rahu promises daughters. 5L and karaka Jupiter, though afflicted is posited in the 2H of family and is aspecting its own house (8H) thus not letting it spoil its’ significations. Mars plays a dual role here as it is not only badhakesh but also a yogkarak for the native, hence, its aspect on 5L & karaka Jupiter is beneficial.

In the Navamsha (D-9) chart, 5L of D-1 & karaka Jupiter is posited in the 7H, its’ own rashi, in mutual aspect with Lagna Lord of D-1 Sun which is posited in the Lagna. Mars is exalted in the 5H conjunct 2L Venus and they are aspected by 5L Saturn.

In the Saptamsha (D-7) chart, 5L of D-1 Jupiter is posited in the 5H. 5L of D-7 Mars is exalted and is conjunct Kshetra Sphuta in the 2H of family and is aspecting karaka Jupiter, this confirms that despite all the afflictions the native will be blessed with a child. The native had a daughter in the first year of marriage.

This native was abused as a child, and at the age of 14 became pregnant.

Lagna Lord Jupiter in mutual aspect with 5L Mars gives a strong promise for a child. 2L Saturn is exalted and is directly aspecting the 5H. Ketu from the 8H is aspecting 7L Mercury and Putra karaka Venus (Jaimini astrology) in the 2H, as well as its’ dispositor Moon and 5L Mars in the 12H. There is a connection between 7H, 8H, 12H and Rahu, Ketu and Venus. This clearly indicates that she was abused and the child was the consequence of the abuse.

Kshetra Sphuta though posited in an odd sign in the D-1 chart, is in an even rashi in both the Navamsha (D-9) chart and the Saptamsha (D-7) chart confirming the promise of a child. In the Saptamsha (D-7) chart, 5L of D-1 Mars is posited in the 5H itself.

She had a child in the maha dasha of Mercury. Mercury is posited in the 2H of family conjunct 9L Venus and is aspected by Lagna Lord & karaka Jupiter.

However, 5L Mars though posited in its own house is weak at 00°22 and is placed in the 12H (8th to 5H) which shortens the lifespan of the child. It is also conjunct Gulika, Mandi and a debilitated 8L Moon. Moon in Saturn’s nakshatra is creating a Punarphoo yoga in the 12H.

Lagna Lord & karaka Jupiter is aspecting 5L Mars, and an exalted 2L Saturn is aspecting the 5H which ensured that the native had a child early in life.

This native is married to a divorcee and has biological children and stepchildren.

In the D-1 chart, 5L Mercury is posited in the Lagna conjunct 7L Sun and is in mutual aspect with Lagna Lord Saturn. Lagna Lord Saturn is aspecting the 9H as well, and is in house exchange with 7L Sun which makes the Lagna and Lagna Lord strong. Jupiter posited in the 5H is Karko bhavo nasham. Though, in practice we have found that it denies sons, but not children. If afflicted, it can give sons. It is also the 2L and is conjunct Mars which is the 5L from Moon. 5H from Jupiter is the 9H and is aspected by Jupiter.

An exalted 9L Venus is posited in the 2H of family but is in Rahu/Ketu axis. 9H has Gulika posited there but is strong due to the aspect of Lagna Lord Saturn and 2L Jupiter.

Kshetra Sphuta is in an even sign in D-1, D-9 and D-7 charts. In the D-1 chart, Kshetra Sphuta’s dispositor Venus is exalted and posited in the 2H of family.

In the Navamsha (D-9) chart, 5L Moon is posited in the10H aspected by 2L Mars. Lagna Lord of D-1 Saturn is posited in the 2H. Jupiter 2L of D-1 is aspecting Mars (2L of D-9) but from the
