LATE WINTER SEASON
EXT. WOODS - DAY
A small GROUP of people are watching their double selves in a house further away through its window.
INT. SMALL HOUSE - DAY
GROUP MEMBER DOUBLE 1
So it's cancer. The doctor is coming today.
EXT. WOODS - DAY
GROUP MEMBER 1
So it's the same story, not two different stories.
GROUP MEMBER 2
It's not a different time, it's the same time.
INT. RESTAURANT - EVENING
TATE, female, attractive, late 20s, eats alone.
WAITER
Can I bring you anything else?
TATE
No thanks.
WAITER
...Were you meant to be meeting someone? Boyfriend, family?
TATE
I'm here by myself.
Tate goes back to eating.
INT. EVENT VENUE - DUSK
Tate is organising and decorating tables at a pre-event.
TATE
All the waiting staff should have arrived by now. Could you brief them? The tables aren’t finished.
ASSISTANT
Sure.
Tate scatters decoration on tables.
INT. EVENT VENUE - OPPOSITE END OF ROOM
WAITING STAFF ages 16 upwards make their way in and CHAT. Among them is ALEX, male, early 20s. Alex glides through the room aiming for Tate. Alex's GIRLFRIEND is watching Alex.
INT. EVENT VENUE
Alex offers Tate his hand.
ALEX
I'm Alex.
INT. EVENT VENUE - OPPOSITE END OF ROOM
Alex's Girlfriend sees Tate and an enthusiastic Alex talking to each other. GUESTS come in and sit at tables.
INT. EVENT VENUE - KITCHEN
CHEF, male, 20s, is plating starters. He looks at Tate. Tate gathers her hair up.
TATE
I need a hairband.
CHEF
Wait there.
Chef goes away and comes back with a rubber band, which he offers to Tate. Tate shyly takes it and ties her hair back.
...Do you live near this venue?
TATE
No, I live in Wolva.
CHEF
Do they need any new chefs in Wolva? I could move down there.
Tate smiles. Some Waiting Staff come through.
TATE
Right, can we get those starters out please to the last tables.
