Singer Quantum Stylist 9960 - Rocky Nook

    01 PARTS, BUTTONS, AND DIALS

    1. Handle

    2. Thread Take-Up Lever (inside): This arm moves up and down to feed the thread from the spool down through the needle. Cycle the lever (up and down) by turning the hand wheel.

    3. Thread Cutter Button: Push this button to cut both the thread and bobbin after sewing.

    4. Speed Control Button: Move the slider to the right to increase sewing speed and left to decrease sewing speed.

    5. Needle Up-Down/Slow Button: When the needle is stationary, pressing this button moves the needle between the up and down positions. While sewing, pressing this button puts the machine at its slowest speed. Pressing it again releases the slow speed function.

    6. Reverse Stitch Button: This button tells the machine to stitch backward. Without the foot pedal connected, pressing this button prompts reverse stitches. If the foot pedal is connected, depress the pedal to make the machine stitch.

    7. Start/Stop Button: Press this button to start or stop sewing. It is deactivated when your foot pedal is connected.

    8. Extension Table: Remove the extension table by sliding it to the left. (You can also pull the front face down and forward to reveal the hidden accessory case.)

    9. Presser Foot Lifter: Lift this lever to raise the presser foot; lower it to bring the presser foot to the fabric.

    10. Forward/Reverse Adjusting Screw (underneath the machine): Rotate this screw to adjust decorative stitches or letters if distorted. It may take some trial and error to get the shapes/letters perfect.

    11. Thread Cutter: Cut your threads manually by slicing them through this metal attachment.

    12. Buttonhole Lever: Pull the lever all the way down for the buttonhole foot/function on your machine to work.

    13. Needle Threader: This mechanism pulls the thread through the eye of your needle.

    14. Needle Threader Lever: This is the mechanism by which you set the needle threader.

    15. Presser Foot Thumb Screw: Loosen this screw
