      Goddesses of Vengeance - David Thompson

      Introduction

      Goddesses of Vengeance is a book that has kept itself hidden in the deep corners of my computer system, in a small folder off in a largely unexplored section of my hard drive array.

      Its actual genesis was while I was trying on new titles for my Furies series, looking at eye-catching covers for a pitch deck for the TV series adaptation.

      Looking at the various images I’d found, and licensed for the pitch deck, I felt a tugging at my brain. One god or goddess, or someone, was trying to get my attention.

      It was Lilith. She has stuck around since my book on her, often connecting to the people I teach or the people who want readings, lending her energy to assist them in manifesting their desires. She’s quite good at this. Not too good at passing along spiritual messages. Few are, really. One day, Fortuna interrupted a meditation session to tell me, You life will change dramatically in July. Okay, but in what way? No details. Goddesses!

      Anyway, Lilith got my attention and said, I’m quite good at vengeance.

      I know. If you were in the physical, I’d use you as a model for this cover, but until then, please step back a bit. You’re a distraction. Then I added, In a good way, you know. Last thing I needed was a pissed off Lilith near me.

      The thing to remember is this, ALL gods/goddesses/daemons/general spirits are good at any type of magik. Some are better at some magik, but they all can help you with any desire you need help manifesting. Most, not all, but most are nonjudgmental in their use, and some will flat-out let you know if what you are asking for from them isn’t possible. But this is a limitation of the Earth Reality system, not their magik.

      Our reality is very dense. Imagine the densest thing on this planet, then imagine THAT being a hundred times as dense. Then you might come close to how dense our dimensional reality is.

      But this only serves to slow down the magik. This is why magik will appear to have failed, only to suddenly work. It’s simply the way it is. Do you want a better system? Learn to access higher dimensions. Or learn to work within the restrictions.

      There will be, no doubt, some generous handwringing from certain sectors of the magik community about this book and its topic. Some people feel that magik should only be used if harming none. Tell that to some priestesses in New Orleans and be ready for a cascade of laughter. Magik is simply energy, and by itself it carries no good or bad energy. It’s just energy.

      When you approach vengeance magik with a methodical mind, and you are aiming to make a poor slob even up for the acts they did against you or a loved one, you are simply acting as a balancing force in our very unbalanced world. This world needs more people taking matters into their own hands. The US Justice System is heavily rigged against anyone who are very well off.

      Therefore, the old gods have tasked me with writing these books. Modern religions are all well off the original path, and those religions have twisted the teachings, so that what is left is a faded, poor copy of what was intended all those years ago. I’m not about to go into the ET origins of modern religions. I’ll leave that for other authors.

      In writing this book, I looked at goddesses I’d not written about before. Except for Lilith. If we’re looking at a topic like vengeance, Lilith had better be included in the picture. In each case, I used the traditional methods of making contact, then I asked for a method of contact that works within my system of magik. I don’t have a name for this system, I’ll let other people do the labeling.

      So, in this book, I’ll explore The Morrigan, Kali, Lilith, Santa Muerte, The Furies, Hecate, Sekhmet, then Nemesis.

      I’ll look at them as they relate to magik seeking revenge and vengeance.

      I’ll poke at the sleeping monstrosity that is karma and explain what it really is and why it’s a false system. The system works perfectly, which is why it needs dismantling.

      I’ll look at the limitations of vengeance magik and why it’s needed.

      I’ll follow the format of all my previous books, in that I’ll talk about the deity, my experiences with them, then how they can be leveraged into being an agent of revenge. Then I’ll present some rituals in my familiar format as examples of how to work my style of magik using that subject.

      In all cases, you will need a symbol of some type to help you connect to the target goddess. This might be a sigil, a drawing, or even a statue. Many practitioners prefer a statue to have on their altar for a specific deity, and plenty are available. When possible, I’ll have a symbol/sigil available for the particular goddess. Note - in all cases, we’ll be summoning the revenge aspect of these spirits. This way, when you summon Hecate, you’ll get the goddess who is ready to exact revenge, and not the aspect of the goddess who is good at helping you attract that desirable person in the cafe you just locked eyes with.

      This Book

      The cover of this book represents the three Furies. You might be aware of the small book series on the Furies I did a few years ago. While writing that book, I kept getting negative feedback because I’d made the Furies these three gorgeous goddesses. I felt then, and still now, that revenge and vengeance should be paired with staggering beauty. Danger lies in nature; the most beautiful snakes are the deadliest. Same with spiders. Poison dart frogs. That’s nature, a combination of beauty and danger.

      In order to write this book, I dedicated days to sitting in meditation and reaching out to many goddesses one after the other. I started off by making lists, and then continued to make additional lists, until I finally condensed everything into a final list consisting of eight exceptional and awe-inspiring goddesses who possess both effectiveness and beauty, as well as a deadly nature.

      Next, I began working with goddesses I had not previously connected with, establishing contact and determining the specific circumstances under which each goddess should be invoked. I also explored the most effective ways to summon them during rituals. While many preferred their traditional methods of summoning, I carefully guided them toward embracing my usual ritual practices, blending their traditional phrases with my pragmatic, Let’s get it done approach.

      This book uses my ritual template, in which I will outline what tools you’ll need and how to set up your space.

      If this is the first magik book you’ve chosen to read, I’ll also cover the basics of ritual magik, how I perform the ritual, to help you get started. Although, if this is your first book, I urge you to pick up my basic High Magik 101 book, just to get a better grounding of magik and the pitfalls that can, and will, occur when working the magik of vengeance.

      Vengeance Magik

      As with love magik, or any magik designed to affect a targeted person, there are some warnings you’ll need to pay attention to.

      Read my disclaimer. Then go back and read it again. To that, I will now add: Do not attempt any magik of revenge or vengeance without first thinking it through. Take your time. Make sure the target is the one who deserves the magik they’re about to receive.
