Description
Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. is remembered as an activist, a prominent leader in the civil rights movement, a pioneering historical figure and a wordsmith. The 1964 Nobel Peace Prize was awarded to Martin Luther King Jr. for his non-violent campaign against racism. At the time, the 35 year old King was the youngest man to have recieved the prestigious award. King's inspiring "I have a dream" speech is one of history's most well-known speeches. Therefore, I have chosen one you may not be as familliar with - the Nobel Peace Prize Award acceptance speech. In it he states, "I believe that unarmed truth and unconditional love will have the final word in reality. This is why right, temporarily defeated, is stronger than evil triumphant."
