The Greatest Showman 2: Zac Efron gives EXCITING update on Hugh Jackman sequel
THE GREATEST SHOWMAN 2 has had an update from Zac Efron.
The Greatest Showman featurette starring Zac Efron
Last year The Greatest Showman proved to be a surprise hit at the box office and in the album charts. With such success, it’s unsurprising that the movie musical has a sequel in the works. One of the film’s stars Efron, who has been promoting his movie about serial killer Ted Bundy, recently gave an update on the Greatest Showman sequel. He told The Sun: “So those discussions have started and we are working on one [a sequel] right now.”
Efron also appeared on The Graham Norton Show this week, where he said: “Hugh [Jackman] is working on all sorts of things including a one-man show.
“What’s next? I don’t know but I hope there’s a sequel.”
Earlier this month, Jackman himself gave an update but said he was unsure about starring.
Speaking with BBC Radio 2, the 50-year-old said: “The real answer is ‘could be’, I'm not sure.”
Jackman continued: “I’m being completely honest with you, there is talk of something going around but no one is really sure.
“I think right now there's more emphasis being put on what will happen with... I was doing my show, will there be another live version'.
“No one is really sure right now, so that's the honest truth.
“But I think someone is working on a treatment for something... I know they are, they're working on a treatment for something.”
Asked if he would return as Barnum “at the drop of a hat”, Jackman replied, “I don't know.
“I would like to be part of it, for sure, and I don't know if it would be centred on my character.
“The other thing is, it did take eight years to get [the first movie] made and that wasn't all eight years of convincing people.
“It takes a long time to write stuff.”
